Mister ...
Alright.  I got the video recorded and posted up on YouTube. I've also got two more ready to go up as well and another 6 to go.  I might have to obtain the full version of Camtasia once my 30-day trial expires ...   aiwebs_008

So yeah, thanks for the help.

Quote from DMantra:

Hearing the old Symphony of the Night dialogue being spoken makes me glad they re-dubbed the entire game for Dracula X Chronicles.  That's still a funny vid though.
Are you ready for some underwear music?
Castlevania: SotN is indeed a great game, I think it's one of the best Castlevanias ever.
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
It also paved the way for all of the recent handheld Castlevanias, so we can't complain too much.  :)
Super Metroid Addict
well...i think i'm gonna give castlevania another try xD
Mister ...
I recommend starting with a "Classic" title, such as Castlevania 1 or 3 for the NES.  Super Castlevania IV is an extremely good title.  Dracula X isn't bad if you don't compare it too much with Rondo.  The only way you'll be able to play Rondo of Blood is if you emulate the original (There's also the option of ebay/amazon, but you'll end up paying quite a bit for it) or go out and buy Dracula X Chronicles, which I recommend getting since you'll get Symphony of the Night as well (Provided you can find the secret in the main game).  Castlevania Chronicles is a remake of the original Castlevania, so play that if you can.  There's also the gameboy titles: Castlevania Adventure, Castlevania - Belmont's Revenge, and Castlevania Legends.

The RPG's aren't bad but they don't quite feel like the true Castlevania experience, but it's a completely different formula so that's to be expected.  I can't really recommend a starting RPG Castlevania, but I do know Aria of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow are considered the next best after Symphony.  Portrait of Ruin is pretty good and has some interesting challenges (Hard mode with a level 1 cap for instance).  Most people will warn you against Circle of the Moon and Harmony of Dissonance, but I didn't think either title was too bad.  There's also a couple 3-D RPG titles as well (can't recall their names), but I can't really give an opinion on those as I've never tried them.

It just depends what you're looking for in the series.

Don't forget, right now or in a bit, the next Castlevania comes out for the DS. I hope it's good.
Edit: *laughs in a strange manner* It was in stock at GameStop at 8AM Eastern time. Now I'll try it today.

Dawn of Sorrow is really good, you just have to grind a tad bit for every hour or so (I was level 46 in 11 hours and barely survived).

Concern on Circle of the Moon: I would have to suggest grinding every 20-45 minutes or so, or else you'll get badly creamed.
Yo.
On the topic of Castlevania, I am now the proud owner of Ecclesia, and I gotta say a couple things about it:

- They took the castle out of Castlevania. This isn't necessarily a bad thing; it just means the game actually has an Overworld Map, of sorts, complete with several separate locales.
- I like how blinding the save animation this time around isn't. (Finally!)
-As you already know, if you've been reading stuff about this game, pretty much every normal attack costs you MP. Fear not, it recharges like it did in Portrait of Ruin's Sisters Mode (except without the you-have-to-be-on-the-ground caveat, since you can't fly anyways.) The stronger attacks of the game (executed with good-ol' Bullet Soul ^+Y/X) will run you those good old-fashioned Hearts.

So, yeah. It's pretty cool, though the Castlevanias are just getting more and more and more unconventional as time goes on. Not a completely bad thing either. ;P

I haven't seen Ecclesia in stores yet.  Then again, I haven't been to one in the last week.  It is #1 on my "To Get" list, but I lack fundages (and a job to earn said fundages).  I could nag my mom to get it for me I suppose, but I already owe her $70.  Then again, I'm sure another $30 wouldn't hurt ... There is also the possibility of Christmas, but I'm already pushing my luck by asking for Animal Crossing: City Folk with the Wii-Speak bundle.  I'm sure my friend will get it soon (if he doesn't have it already) so I can just borrow it from him.

From my understanding, Castlevania is there ... just not until the end of the game.  Unless you've beaten it already and can officially confirm this being first (second?) Castlevania game without the actual Castlevania actually being there.

I don't think I said Castlevania enough times in this post ... Castlevania!   :D

nn12000, you should do the honor of making "The Castlevania Topic" in Gaming.

Damn it, my bro got Order already, I just have to wait later tonight to play it!

And I shall celebrate my 1000th post by chugging a soda, no matter how much it spills on my shirt.
Yo.

Nope, haven't beaten the game yet; I'm at this incredibly annoying large crab demon who punches you with his larger claw. From the way Castlevanias play, I'm surprised a castle hasn't shown up in the intro or ANYTHING. (Also, I just realized Dawn of Sorrow was not in Dracula's Castle, but it's still a castle. IT COUNTS.)

I preordered that thing and made sure I got there the day it arrived. I barely managed to grab one; they went fast, at least at my GameStop.

Is it a Giant. Enemy. Crab. ?
One shall stand, one shall ball.
CRAB BATTLE!
Look, witty text!
Make sure to flip it over so you can hit its weak point for massive damage!
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
Or you could just take one step back, since they can only walk sideways, and there's no third dimension for it to turn and chase you. Mwahaha!  Twisted Evil
Yo.
Wowsers, I've taken control of the conversation by mentioning a crab. I need to do that more often. Mental note...

It is a boss. It is an incredibly annoying boss. I wish you could flip him over, but that's pretty damn impossible when he's as wide as the
lighthouse
tower you're in. It's actually a scripted battle, as you can only kill him a certain way, and it was extremely kickass.
You crush him with an elevator at the very top. An elevator with motherf***ing huge spikes on it's underside. Oh yeah.

Fix'd.

Why can't more Castlevanias be 3D games? laugh new Haha, guys, I'm just kidding. No, wait, what are you doing with that pitchfor-- *gets stabbed*

I'll get Ecclesia once my finances recover after GH:WT
Viking
Precursor
I ordered Order of Ecclesia. Should hopefully appear within the next week.

Overworld map with different locales make me feel... uneasy. Portait of Ruin sort of did that with the paintings, and they were pretty stupid. Not to mention insanely linear.

Anyway.

Personally I find Circle of the Moon to be the best Metroidvania so far. It wasn't devoid of challenge like Symphony, it has one of the best magic systems, and it actually had good bonus modes.

Yeah, looks like I'll need to get Ecclesia soon. Just sucks how little time I have, especially with Vesperia on my plate, too.
