Just out of curiosity, how old did you think I was before you found out (however that was)?  I know TRH's age surprised me; mainly because I didn't believe someone of that age could be such a cynic.

EDIT:  Simu-post.  >_>

Haha, what?

Most people on the internet seem to think I'm around 18. That started 2 years ago.

Izo, I thought you were 19 until the Age things got put into the profiles.
in the name of justice!
Yeah, I thought Izo was like 18.  Same with TRH.

I blame M2K2 for me getting an F in English and Social Studies last year in the 3rd quarter... <_< ...but I still love this place.
and at the same time, people can turn out to be a lot older than they seem online. age really isn't a reliable indicator of maturity XD
(I know this doesn't have to do with any posts)
When I played Megaman 2 at the end, the bosses pwn'd me so many times I literally CRIED after coutless ownings. Anyone else had this happen to you?
only boss i remember having that much trouble with was that weird boob toting woman thing in ninja gaiden (alma iirc? when you fight her in the ruined church). i saved without much magic or whatever, and it was from a place where you couldn't get more easily, so i was kind of screwed ... had to actually fight her instead of cheesing, and it took a long time for my reflexes and insight into her behavior to grow to the point that i could take her out with a good try.

and then there's ecco the dolphin, but i don't think that counts.

I was stuck on Yakuza for a long while.  That was before I knew about this place, though.
The Wind Elemental in Vay...tried, got wiped out, tried, got wiped out, levelled, tried, got wiped out...repeat.  Finally took a three-week break from the game, during which my roommate and I played through a different game, and then went back and levelled some more and finally made it.  Found out later that that boss's stats had gotten jacked way up accidentally (it was only about a quarter of the way through the game and was easily 3-4x as hard as intended).

Getting to the save before SM Ridley with < 50 health and no reserves had a similar tears-of-frustration effect, as did about ten hours of attempts on ZM Kraid.
everybody knows it's true
I remember the whole family stuck on Ganondorf on OOT for weeks... then my Sister found out the stat, and I beat the game first  :) .
lol no way
Bah, I was reading this page from the top, excited to put in my two cents about the "internet = good" topic, then... bosses? I need to pay more attention to this topic, it keeps making me think I can actually say something serious that might help people get to know me better, then, whammo, something destroys any chance of that.
gah, if you'd really read the whole thing then you'd know there's no such thing as gravedigging in it.

This topic seems to be working well.

Nah, don't worry about that at all. That's kind of what this topic's all about. Feel free to change the topic at any time, but you can still reply to any topic you want.
I get stuck on bosses in games a lot, but after I leave the game for an hour or so and come back, they're possible.  Not easier, but possible.  For example, I could never beat Ganondorf in Ocarina, Boolossus in Luigi's Mansion, nor Boswer (in any castle) of Super Mario Bros.  On the other hand, there are some instances where this is the reverse, for example, I beat the Boost Guardian the first time I tried, I beat Dark Chykka in under 20 seconds, and Meta Ridley the second time I tried.

In Cave Story, I found Ballos to be $!#%#@ing hard when I first went against him. After about 198412739872345 billion tries I managed to find a good strategy and pwn him. Now I have no problem with him. I beat him last weekend on my first try after not playing the game for over a month. I'm just that good. 8)
For bosses....how about freakin maledict from doom3:resurrection of evil. Hardest FPS boss I ever faced. Or maybe for a real challenge we could try Omega Weapon. Either one is hard as heck, and you have to have a flawless strat to beat them. Never be bored with them.
Just off topic (because this thread is for significant random things), does anyone play a "group" instrument?  I play handbells, if you're in an orchestra, that counts too.  It's kinda neat to be in a handbell choir because first of all, you're usually holding over $800 of instruments in your two hands (if you don't believe me, we have a set of Schulmerich bells, C3 - C8, how we paid, I don't know), and you're acting like the hammer for one key on a piano (I've seen another choir go over to a piano and each use two fingers to play a piece).

Gyorg in Majora's Mask ranks as my least favorite boss ever.  With eight hearts and three fairies I kind of expected to be able to start beating him, but I had to go through Great Bay Temple like five times to finally beat him.  Even now I totally dread that part of the game since I never figured out how to NOT get eaten.

I didn't know about the sidestep so Alpha Splinter in Echoes was totally evil as well.  All of the Dark World Link to the Past bosses owned me as well...

For me though, Final Fantasy III has had the hardest boss fights as I'd never played an RPG before and I had no idea what to expect or do for those fights.  The bosses from Thelmasa to World of Ruin caused me ridiculous amounts of greif.  Then, after finally defeating Atma Weapon, I DIDN'T SAVE, and got killed by Phunbaba in Mobliz and had to play like 90 minutes again.

Trebor is my hero for helping me insane amounts with this game.
For everyone who might be interested, Wallace and Gromit: the curse of the were rabbit comes out on friday. Im definitly going to see that movie, as its the first one ever of the series. So anyone else gonna?
in the name of justice!
Maybe I should go for back-to-back Serenity and Wallace and Gromit in a couple weeks.  I really loved the Wallace and Gromit shorts, and Chicken Run, so I've been pretty excited about this one.
Come on, AJ, tell us your internet=good story.

I played harp in my university's orchestra for a while, and was in marching and concert bands for years.  I love playing in groups.  Handbells would be interesting.

If Gyorg is the Water Temple boss, then I think I chickened out of that one too...no, wait, I did fight that boss.  It was the rest of the dungeon that my sister did for me.  I was having major motion sickness problems from the swimming and just control problems in general. :|
Anyone up for a chess tournament? Pirate109 is interested, I bet Ark is, and obviously myself.

Oh well, where?
