Quote from DeathNoble:
TG...  After that thing about Prime where they mislisted somebody's best time...  *Sigh*  I wanted to post a link in a video games section of my forums and be like "This place is pretty much the accepted 'Hall of Fame' for video games!" but if it's Twin Galaxies and they mistype things like that...  And that was a pretty big mistype.  As in a whole hour. Shocked Just to make sure though, they don't accept runs done on emualtor, right?

You know, I should go ahead and link to SDA.  Get it some publicity, maybe.

By the way, Smops, how's your finger?

sda is the best one because they are the only site with proof.
My finger is fine, almost completely healed. Just a bit thick and stiff, like it's bruised. Well, it probably is anyways :P

DeathNoble: In what way is Twin Galaxies the accepted "hall of fame" of video games? It has innacurate times, obviously with no video proof required (even though it says it does) and you can't actually even watch many of the videos. How stupid. Is there really any question that SDA is not the best?
because they ARE the 'official' world-record thingmabob.

Doesn't matter. It's inaccuracy makes it nothing but bullgunship in my eyes.
Your view doesn't matter to the masses.
I was answering Smop's answer that TG is more widely accepted as the Hall of Fame and speaking from that mind set.  I obviously don't know what place is, and so I asked.

Sounds to me like TG is better known, but sda gives proof... :?

But it matters to me, and I, like many, many other humans, consider myself to be above the masses.
Feels great to be informed doesn't it?
Yes, well, you asked "In what way is Twin Galaxies the accepted 'hall of fame' of video games?" and there's your answer.  Noble asked about widespread acceptance, not Ark acceptance.  So while your sentiment is certainly valid, it's not really answering the question that was asked.

*bows* Thanks for putting into word what I was thinking. I need to take some writing classes, translating my thoughts into words is really hard for me most of the time. :(

I think Ark was trying to make a joke.  I think.

And I'll be linking to sda on my site.  The decision-maker was the fact that sda has videos you can watch.  What's the point in seeing the world record if you can't see the world record being made in progress?  So it's sda, ftw.
ahahaha, the homosexuality topic got closed. i missed my chance to post something meaningful.

Ready and willing.
$10,000 worth of music at 99 cents a track? I'd hate to see the playlist for that! Plus you get a shiny new computer... although I don't know what the benchmarks are in the computer industry these days so I don't know how it stacks up hardware wise...

Who needs TEN iPods, though? Although I supposed you could give them to friends and stuff.

EDIT: Now watch the rush to be the billionth download crash their servers, though. :P Hope they're ready for the storm...
The iMac G5 was snappy, but the integer and floating-point tests for the Intel iMac show that it is at least twice as fast.  I'd say it's an excellent computer, though I haven't tested it myself.  20" DVI LCD, DVI out, Radeon X1600 128MB video card, dual-core 2GHz Intel Core Duo, iSight webcam, dual-layer DVD±RW, Gigabit Ethernet, AirPort Extreme and Bluetooth 2.  Then there's the whole Front Row and remote for entertainment.  Plus it looks great.

Dude, ten iPods would be awesome. I'd probably give five of them to friends and keep the rest for myself, in case something happens to one, two, three, or four of them.
I've also tried entering their 100,000th increment contest, which is extremely hard because when the number rolls around, the song count jumps about 15,000 songs when the count is about 95,000.  Probably someone will win without even knowing about it and be like "WTF, what contest are they talking about??".

yeah, we tried once earlier today to do it and saw that same phenomenon. definitely not a thing you can do anything to increase your chances of winning besides buying many tracks in the general vicinity of a 100k.

btw, i would do almost anything to get my hands on one of those computers. safe to say it's my #2 desire atm.

IMO, there's some space for improvement, more or less Atlantic Ocean-sized. ;P
