Not my precious precious sig!  That thing was really hard to get!  I actually can't find it in any other size.  The sig you see now is 80% of the original size.  Toozing helped my put it on because I had no place to upload.  I beg of thee; spare me my sig!

That's the key.  Use something bigger than 800x600 and you'll be fine.

The point is, a whole lot of users do not have access to 800x600 because of several circumstances, be it because their monitor is too small, or because their display drivers don't allow anything more than that. Make it a little smaller. If you want, I can do that for ya.

Very few people can't make 800x600, but you need more than that to avoid scrollbars, and going over that makes your text blindingly small.

Yeah, it does look cool. And although I could have a larger browser, I chose a small one. I dunno why, I just did. Anyways, yeah, I have a horizontal scroll on it, but I really don't care. Oh, and if I scroll all the way over, I can see the whole thing so it doesn't really matter. BTW, my screen size is 640 by 480 I think.

I don't know how difficult this would be to implement, but some forums have an option in preferences to turn off sigs.

im sure that would be greatly appreciated by those who don't want to load my sig or roboblobs.

Implementing that in other types of forums may be easy, but in PHPBB2, it's one helluva long task (it took an experienced PHP programmer, friend of mine, around two weeks to find a way to do something similar).

As for you, RoboBlob, I'd suggest you drop the image you have and use this one instead:

Optimized for 800x600+ screens.

Finally, regarding your sig, Syl_Aran, could you hand me the original pictures from Metroid II? It right now has many stray pixels everywhere that lower the actual quality of the pic. I can remake it and clean the individual images so it doesn't look like that.

Yea...that was great.  Why did we even have this poll in the first place?  I think the question should have read "With what shall RoboBlob's sig be replaced?  Now it's crappy and small.  Thanks a bunch!

Sheesh, it's the same picture, just smaller. There ARE people with 800x600 resolutions, so if the oppertunity to be considerate presents itself, you might as well take it.

i couldn't find a rule against it in the rules, but maybe i just wasn't looking hard enough.  I'll remove my sig if anyone has any objections, i just think it looks damn cool.
