First of all: Whoa, my account is still here... This was pretty much my first forum and it has been years since I've been here. This place seems to have changed a lot...

Anyway... I got inspired in a "sprite bead art" on another forum. What you do is really simple. You find a sprite you want to make, find some perler beads with matching colors, buy a pegboard and start working. I decided to do one of the bigger Samus sprites at the end of Super Metroid, and did it with mini beads, which are half the size of normal beads. The result? Here:

yeah perler beads are pretty cool

cross stitching looks even better, but is a lot more work
Very nice. reminds me of the time I spent a good hour or so making the SM samus sprite in F-Zero GX's decal maker. Fun.
I love you whores!
Wow very nice! I'm a huge Super Metroid fan and I love what you've done here. Man it makes me want to give a shot at making one myself, but i have alot on my plate right now as i'm in practice to speedrun this game. i happened to be browsing around the forum when i saw this i had to say something. So again, very nice work.
red chamber dream
very cool. definitely something i'd hang on my wall.
This almost makes me want to make one of my own of a certain video game character.

I've been wanting to make sprites and stuff with the perler beads for a long time now, but with two little sisters I never get a chance to use any of them before they make giant dis-colored squares with all the beads T_T

My mom also looks at me funny whenever I ask her to get me some so I can make something. I guess she thinks I'm too old for  "kids" arts and crafts...
