No he means that the video is now the exact resolution of the SNES. That's actually smaller than it was ... but he also used a higher bitrate for some twisted reason so now it's slightly larger.
I doubt it... in the little strange things section, it states the 30 fps thing is from the vcr tape, not nate's transfer. So unless this new codec is so good it can magically restore frames already lost...
yeah, short answer is that it's the same number of frames as before, just better quality per frame.
long answer is that i actually maintain 29.97 fps (ntsc standard) now with the new pixel:pixel versions, so you should be able to do analysis in vdub and come out with a pretty close estimate of her time (if you felt like cutting out every single time the black limbo between rooms appears, she picks up an item, etc).
