Holy poo. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is one freakin' amazing game. Everything in this game simply shines; the graphics are amazing, the animations incredible, the story's intruiging, the atmosphere's jaw-drapping, and most important of all, the gameplay absolutely PWNS like no other. Sheeat, dude -- if you don't own this game, buy it. Now.

I just got the game (couldn't resist that PoP/Spinter Cell deal) and I must say I agree 100%. I'm not too far in yet, but I'm having a blast with it. Controls are spot-on, and the game is freaking fun. Pretty challenging too, from what I've seen. I love trying to figure out which of the Prince's acrobatic abilities is going to get you to the next platform. It feels suprisingly like it's 2D counterparts, while feeling all new at the same time. Fantastic job by Ubi Soft.
Banks has made speed videos of this game.  Only the intro so far, but cool to watch.

I'll probably rent it soon, I'm pretty busy gaming wise

Hmm... I should consider speed running this game. Yesterday I was messing around trying to sequence break... but uh... no dice.

I'm currently working on a preliminary speed run. It's going pretty good so far, but I can definately improve on the time. I'll try to record my real attempt.

Preliminary run finished. Final recorded time of 02:49 at 98%. I figure the final final time to be somewhere around 02:52. I think I could improve on that by... oh... 8 minutes or so. It's definately not near as low as it could be.
Awesome, Toozin.

Ready and willing.
But wait, there's more!

As part of its earnings announcement today, publisher and developer Ubisoft said it is planning a sequel to its acclaimed adventure game, The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. "Today, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is a resounding success for our group," Said Ubisoft Chairman Yves Guillemot. A sequel to this hit is already being planned with an improved marketing positioning."

Guillemot did not divulge any other details about the Prince of Persia sequel--i.e. when it will be released or whether it will be for current or next generation consoles. Sands of Time was available on all platforms: PC, Xbox, GameCube, PlayStation, 2 and the Game Boy Advance. GameSpot will have more details on this emerging title as they become available.

Joygasm!
Love the game as well, i was going to speedrun it (at least to the point that you can unlock the first Prince of Persia) but, sadly, my save file got boned because theres a certain switch that She has to trigger, and my save file is NOT saying she triggered it.

Right before you get the second sword as well, darn.

no matter, awesome game, I'm surprised it didn't sell well, but the sequel is such good news that It means ubisoft knows when it has a good title.
I just hope they don't OVER sequalize it...
It sold like crazy in Europe.
I've had it for so long but stopped playing it a week after I got it.  Dunno why....it's an awesome game.  Oh well, I guess I'll never get past 80-something percent. Crying or Very sad

Likewise, I beat the game within the first 2 days of owning it. O_o
