The general definition doesn't necessarily have to result in flaming, and can simply be irrelevant comments that are disruptive to a topic. (As usual) The wiki actually sums it up pretty well:

"In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.

Guys, boxxy hasn't been cool since before the internet, let it go. The only people who give a shit about her are the lonely nerds that hope against hope that a girl will pay attention to them on the internets (because no girls pay attention to them in real life).

I'm guessing the whole "tbob troll" thing started with DMantra's dislike for him. Guess what guys, there's no internet definitive dictionary of terms! Ergo, this conversation is moot and I win.
