what does drm have to do with it? blizzard would make a shitload of money off this game even without drm, they're just greedy fucks
dude. you were the one giving me a hard time awhile back when I was saying this wasn't drm, and you were like "why else would they make it always-online except for combating piracy". and I was like "nah it's so you have all your characters and items attached to your account and for it to be easier to play with friends" and you were like "nah dude nah".

when it takes several seconds for an item to actually be picked up after i clicked on it, that's blizzard failing as a company
that's very odd though, considering WoW has supported over ten million players.
oh, it's monday night. early tuesday morning/late monday night is always maintenance and patch night. I wonder if a WoW patch is coming, or D3 fixes.
ah okay. Blizzard can certainly make the always-online work, it's just the fact that D3 just came out so these kind of kinks still have to be worked out. I'd bet money that in a month's time it'll be just as smooth as WoW is.

plus people have already cracked the game so they can play offline, there's tons of torrents already
drm fails yet again, and activision still doesn't fucking get it
there's no "crack" out yet, given the way it works. people are first going to have to find a way to host a fake server on their own computer, or someone is going to have to make a private server and manage that. Since it's the server that gives things like mob locations and a bunch of other shit.

that's what i mean. these already exist lol
i guess the thing that saddens me most is that in 40 years it will be literally impossible to play this game ... i can imagine lists of the greatest games of all time or whatever, and some kid seeing diablo iii and never being able to play it
oh shit, there's going to be a furry rave this weekend around the convention.
showing up in a horse mask with neon green gloves + glasses + tie + shoes ftw.

isn't this the problem with every mmo ever though?
and I mean in 40 years nobody is going to want to play our modern shitty games :P it'd be like people wanting to fly in vintage 60's planes or whatever.
whoa bro calm your jets (unless you're being sarcastic, in which case lol)
I'm just saying all mmos have that problem too. besides, if it's really cracked, doesn't that mean the people of the future could just... you know... play the cracked version?

just like no one enjoys watching casablanca? just like no one enjoys playing super mario bros.? if video games are ever going to be something that people revere generation after generation, companies need to get their shit together and make great works that last
and sure, mmos have that problem, but there's no way around that ... mmos have only ever existed as saas, which is fine, everyone expects them to be fleeting
