Well, given that Metroid Prime is known for its version differences, I couldn't find out anywhere else so I thought I'd ask.

Pikmin.  There is a 1.0 and a 1.1 version.  I am wondering if anyone knows what the differences between versions are?  Along with MP, the only other game to have version differences is Super Smash Bros Melee; some models in the gallery and some other bits and bobs I believe.

Anyone know about Pikmin?

I don't know for sure, but I very highly doubt they changed anything.
But why would there be two versions then?
One shall stand, one shall ball.
There may have been a couple minor glitches here and there that were fixed. I think a lot of games get multiple versions though, whether it's just making new copies of it or fixing minor bugs changes aren't always noticeable. There reason the different versions of Prime stood out was that we knew where to look for them in a sense, the changes worked to prevent sequence breaks and as a community dedicated to that finding the road blocks would be pretty easy.

Yes Pikmin is Player's Choice.

So does this mean that most games have multiple versions, or at least Player's Choice ones?

I'm not aware of multiple versions for Wind Waker, Luigi's Mansion, Super Mario Sunshine, or any other highly-sold Player's Choice game.

Plus I'd fail to see why there is effort put into minor bug-fixes if we don't even realise when gaping ones are  easy to fix or small but significant ones are left in.

theres always google, or better yet, your local gamer store, like gamestop.
Uh... WHAT?

I've Googled this quite a bit and how the hell would a game shop know?  And not everyone on the internet is American, so I don't have  a Gamestop (I'm a Brit that imports US games).
my umbrella goes directly to Bankai
i guess i can somewhat kill the player's choice theory since my copy of Mario Party 7 is a 0-01 and i got that game when it came out.

it is much more likely due to a glitch or something than just being a pc release what produces these 0-01 and 0-02 versions (i think mp1's 0-01 was among the non-pc versions)
it was.

groovemeister, im an american, so i was using what i knew.  i dont know what game stores are in england and ... train of thought just derailed and is currently on fire.  try gamespot.com and check around there, they also have very nice prices ($20 from them versus ~$45 from amazon, again, american who is bad at converting currency) and, at least for mp1, include a few small version differences.  they also have a UK site, but i dont know much about that.

...Which means that there should be a reason for Pikmin's v.1.1...

Yeah I asked at Gamespot/GameFAQs - no-one knows.  I can't think why any game shop would know anyway if a bunch of gamers don't!

Just curious.

my local gamestop has really smart guys there, and they have help me with questions before, so it was an idea.  soryy it didnt help you.
Thanks anyway. :)

That's probably because they're gamers themselves and into the industry?  Maybe you could ask for me?
