red chamber dream
today i'm proud to announce the official launch of a project i've been working on. gamelogs is a video game cataloging and community site all about video games.
the big thing you can do on gamelogs is create a gamelog comprising lists of games you're playing, games in your collection, games you want to play, etc. you just search for a game, then add it to your gamelog. the database already has tons of games, platforms, and companies, and you can submit edits for anything, similar to wikipedia. so, if you see a missing detail, just edit it.
once you join, you can also do stuff like style your gamelog any way you want, choose your favorite games and characters, review games (and read others' reviews), post on the gamelogs forum, vote in weekly polls, and more.
you may notice that the gamelogs home page looks a little bare right now - you can change that by submitting reviews and articles! gamelogs will occasionally do official reviews and features, but i want there to be a big focus on users (you!). so once a week, i'll be featuring a user review, and i'll also feature any well-written original articles yall decide to submit. so if you've ever wanted to write anything at all about video games for lots of people to see, gamelogs is a good place to try it.
if you encounter any problems while using the site, post about them in the this thread. if you find duplicate games in the database, let me know in the database duplicates thread. also, feel free to submit new games, companies, characters, and more - the more good info about video games we've got, the more useful and fun gamelogs will be.
so start building your gamelog, write reviews, post on the forum, follow gamelogs on twitter, and especially tell all your friends - i hope to see you there!
