At first, yeah i know it's way ooold =)

I played it once at a Friend of mine and had to buy it myself, cause i love these kind of Games and today my Version came...

OH MY GAWD, is this Game hard (from my current state it is NOT unfair, just unbelievably hard)

I am playing for more than 15 Years now, but i got never stucked in the second level with the Feeling that i am a whimp, and got no skill ;)

But beside this Impression, i think the Game is a Masterpiece: Design, Graphics and everything

Anyone own it, too?

mmmm.. Ikaruga

I love the game, yes, it is hard, but level 4 is the only one i really have difficulty with.. (too much, ive played over 30 hours and i still haven't figured out the pattern for that level its pure Evil or Very Mad

) every other levle i've been chaining, but i just try to survive level 4.

The game is great, not only is it pretty, but theres a huge amount of effort put behind the enemies and shots, that you only realize later on when you try to chain combo things... Also, its difficulty is near perfect, hard enough, but you know your always going to come back for more. Its more of the memorization type stuff.

I got the game the week it came out, and still play it every now and then. I need to actually beat the game on arcade mode someday, I can beat it using one continue on normal mode, but normal mode doesn't mean shit with the infinite continues and whatnot.

I've also gotten bad at the game again, so next time i play it is when im going to have enough freetime to get myself back in the mode... Ikaruga is like a trance when you play it well..

also, I have the entire soundtrack on my harddrive, w00t. I love the music for this game.

Level four is the hardest level! I always have trouble with it.

Anyway, Ikaruga is an amazing game. I salute Treasure for giving me games like Ikaruga and Gunstar heroes. So innovative and creative. I can't wait to see some new works by Treasure...other than Wario World of course. :-/

Ikaruga pwns. I always have the most trouble racking up combos in level 3... Level 4 has alwas been easier for me.

Never, and I mean never, have I had a game kick my butt around so much at first and still enjoy it. It's definitely a rewarding experience to get better as you keep playing. When you start racking up combos almost effortlessly, you really feel like you accomplished something. Definitely one of my favorite shmups of all time next to the Gradius and Salamander series.

Never tried Ikaruga, but I I want to check it out. Apparently there's a Gamecube verison. I'll be looking for that.

Just looking at GameFAQs and it looks like it's made by Treasure. I wonder if it's the same Treasure that developed Super Castlevania 4. It looks like they developed nextgen Konami sequels, like Tiny Toons and Gradius, so it's possible. I'm intrigued...

That be the same Treasure who also did Gunstar Heroes and Contra: Hard Corps just to name a couple excellent Genny games. And of course Radient Silvergun.

The GameCube version is still pretty common, unlike a lot of Treasure games that get hard to find after they've been out for say, a month.

I hear they did Wario World too, but that wasn't so great.

But Ikaruga was awesome, and it was only made by five people! You should definitely buy it now.

Wario World was done by Treasure, but it was just too repetitive after the first world. Everything had the same patterns and what have you, just different skins. I was really let down with that one.

Gunstar Heroes, wow, I love that game so so much. I can't recall how much I played that game. Infact, I'm going to play it right now..well, when I'm out of school. And not on a rom, the real thing.

if you want them, IM me or catch me on IRC, i don't have anywhere to host things online yet, though i do want to host a few things, mainly the translated metroic e-comic that ouranous (sp?) gave to me.

Actually, they're not. MrMonkeyMan had the entire soundtrack hosted on his site at http://www.mrmonkeyman.com/treasure/ikarugamusic.html for the past few years.
