I should make a special visit!!! :D
Too many fangirls to count
Maybe I should have made it on a day that wasn't 9/11. <_<;;
red chamber dream
Meh, I don't see why people get all worked up about the "anniversary of 9.11". It's just a date; it's not as if it's actually happening again.
hey, makes it easy to remember.
Too many fangirls to count
Make note that my grandpa also died on this date. (not in 2001, but 1991) just a little before I had the oppurtunity to meet him.
i guess your site had better be really good to balance out that date, then. :P
Too many fangirls to count
I wasn't quite born yet, so not as much so. But still.... I know everyone else will be happy, though. I have a BIG surprise for them. ^_^
Not that I'm usually one to grave-dig month old threads, but Nate's post about the history of m2k2 is too fascinating to pass up.

I always thought this thing had been going for quite a while when I got here, but it turns out it was only three months old (I arrived just before the Metroid HQ/Metroid 2002 merge).

And... finally! An explanation for why Nate always types in lower case! I always figured it was strange for someone so good at languages to have such a blatent diregard for capitalisation.

Heh, 'tis not really a bump, anyhow.

It's because Nate is one bad ass son-of-a-bitch.
glad you enjoyed it. a lot of other people i actually care about did, as well, so there is supposedly more coming now. probably will try to get another block of time 'reviewed' for the m2k2 anniversary on 11 november, or if i miss that date, the forum anniversary on 22 november. either way, i think that the next part will be equally educational.
Not impossible
just highly unlikely
Is the forum anniversary REALLY 22 November? Remember, there was a version of this forum that predates the current incarnation.
oops, meant the m2k2 forum anniversary.
Although i am quite late to be seeing this, and to be posting this, but who cares:

Happy Birthday Metroid 2002. And let you always show us how its done Wink

You shouldve just waited eight days. Then we would be celebrating the forum's second birthday.
You mean the forum was created BEFORE the the website, or that he made the forums then the website Question  Question  Question Eh, AOL(my version of oh well...)

I'm saying you shouldve waited eight days before you posted that. In eight days, the forum is celebrating its second birthday.
Ah, Gotcha'!

Ill be there for that (hopefully).

Wow i can't believe i missed this topic up till now. I remember running accross the gamefaqs topics before this site came to be. I remember trying a few tricks and then not touching prime again untill i came across this site on dec 3rd 2005 and watched sparky's 100% run. I have been wandering this site and hooked on speed running prime ever since. Reading the history of this site and the history of sequence breaking makes me really want to go and try to do something crazy like attempt a 1:02 any percent run.
Thank you nate for giving birth to this wonderful site!
One shall stand, one shall ball.

Do it. In fact go break the one hour mark and we'll love you forever. >_>
Although I am nearly 1 year late, that seemed like a rough start for what has become an internet fad. -has just finished reading part 3- It must've been a ride through hell and back up again. Well, I'm glad that you guys were able to break through it all. Cheers to m2k2!

Are you saying m2k2 is an "internet fad"? Just trying to make sure I'm understanding you correctly.
Errr...maybe not the correct choice of words ^^;. But, I'm pretty sure you know where I'm getting at. Maybe "one of the best places on the net" would be better, for the lack of a better phrase.

ha....
Yo.
I certainly find it a much better place to visit on the internet than anywhere else, frankly. Besides the occasional visit to homebrew sites and the ZDoom wiki, I hang out here more than anywhere else. Props to nate for inventing and maintaining the upkeep of a truly awesome place to be.
Shifty Leader
That M2k2 guy
It's a pretty good site. Not the best, as it's only updated a couple times in the past couple years, but there have definitely been some good times to be had here.
