i feel like a noob every time i come here...and i love it. thanks nate. maybe, in the far future, i'll have something to contribute to the site.
yeah, right.
just do what i did for my screw attack underwater glitch :get totually wasted on kool-aid and use your hiperperper activeness to break your controller, hopefully discovering a glitch! (both of my glitches on this site, exept for the echoes one which should be uploaded in the next five months , were discovered on a kool-aid rush)

Thou hast not been here for 1 year. <_< Not even I have.
DOUBLE-YOU TEE EFF! <_< He didn't do anything here until a year later. I thought it said 2005. Anyways, at my year anniversery I am going to.... I dunno... like... eat a penguin or something. <_< DARN YOU SUPUH! WHY MUST YOU HAVE GOTTEN ME ON KOOL AID?
even though i've been here for practically half of the time, one year seems like a long time after reading how much effort actually went into this place.
I guess I should make a comment or two. Really, I don't know what would've happened to the fledgling project known as MHQ had Nate not shown up. We might've had to drop our end completely, or give it over the Mills... I don't know. All I can say is thanks to Nate for being willing to take over where I realized I had gotten into something I couldn't handle (at the time). If I wanted, I could beat Nate's pants off today, but... >_>
So yeah. Here's to the last two years, and to two more. And that was way too many two's/to's/too's. Now it's back to retrofitting that old failure called MHQ into something that ... might work. Someday.

What? Surrender to the mightyness of the SCU you mean? ;) But seriously, what do you mean by give it over [to?] Mills? :?
Just incase anyone cares, my handle on the old IRC channels (#metroid-online, #metroid-prime, whatever we had before or inbetween those) was Rage.
... No, me and Para were not, and are not dating.
But yeah, I must throw out a thanks to nate, 'cause without him, this whole site would probaby still be in beta testing stages, or nowhere at all. I also must thank him because he'll be hosting HBA when it's done, and I'll be the cause of gigabytes of bandwidth rape at no cost to myself.... Nerk nerk nerk nerk nerk!
i was thinking more along the lines of distributing it free on dvd.
as for tim, i think he meant literally ask mills to host all the sequence breaking content. you (mills) were definitely on their minds, i recall, even if i wasn't (might have had something to do with me not telling anyone about the site i was working on).
This site (also SCU and Gfaqs, to be fair) was what kept me playing Metroid Prime for at least a straight year, I don't even remember how long to be honest. And though I haven't played MP since like January, getting caught up in the fervor of looking for new tricks and ways to play the game other than the way you're SUPPOSED to, left an impression on me.
I've now been able to get more enjoyment out of games I thought I'd never play again by looking at them abstractly and saying "hey if I jump here then I can jump there and not have to jump over there!" and "well let's see if I can ramp over this wall and get to the end of the level quicker" and things of that sort, which I never used to do at all.
You might even say I enjoy video games more than I used to... and it's all thanks to MP and the interactions I had with the Metroid community. Thanks a bunch guys. 8)
(the very first downloadable full data video speed run in the history of the web)
now that I did not know - you ought to flash that about a bit more. :P
probably should have qualified that with "that i know of", but whatever ... if there were others in the summer of 2003, they were pretty well hidden. speed running in general i don't think really took off until that year.
