When a hidden user, after reading a post the forum doesn't acknowledge it is read and continues to show the topic icon in blue rather than white or red rather than yellow. Is there any way around this, other than the 'Mark all forums read' button?

I'm not sure what you mean. I just hid myself and read a new post, and the icon turned from blue to white for me.

Perhaps it's because you're a mod so you can see hidden users... or something

Mods cannot see hidden users. But hmm..I'm not sure what's causing this. I'm guessing it's your computer.

This happened to me. I reset my browser and it fixed. Must be your browser.

If you click back, it goes back to the way the page looked before you clicked the topic, just refresh the browser and it should be fixed.
