Hello. I'm Elbryan42. Don't know if anyone has heard of me. I own the Doom Depot (http://www.doom2.net/~elbryan/) which has the Doom 64 TC on it as well as music rips (by me) of every Doom game ever made.  I also own the Castlevania Treasury, which I'm currently working on, and won't have it online again until I ready to re-unveil it to the Castlevania community.

I'm new here, but certainly not to Metroid. :)  Figured I'd make a mark  in this community, and since I'm a HUGE fan of Metroid 2002, I thought I'd settle down here.

Since music ripping is my specialty, I'll be ripping the music from Zero Mission very soon. From the actual cart, not emulated crap. I'm very obsessed with the quality of my rips and I hope it shows. I also have many other rips, if anyone's interested in them.

So, glad to be here. I hope to stick around here for a long time.

BTW, what's a guy gotta do to get an avatar? How many posts?
Thread title:
直死の魔眼使い
1. Welcome aboard. :P
2. Avatars can be used since you register. Go to your profile and scroll down to the bottom of the page. The options there are pretty self explanatory. :P
Ah, must've missed that. My bad. Leave it to me to ask a stupid question right away. :) Sorry about that.

Most places require a certain amount of posts. Guess I just assumed. :P

have you seen http://www.protoman.com/?
Welcome.  You will officially be awesome if you do two things:

1. upload your ZM rip when you finish it.
2. tell me where you avatar is from.

:D
Hello, elbryan42.

I'd be very interested in any other Metroid music rips you've got.  I tried a little bit of emulation ripping but I'm no good at it and as you say, the quality is bad.

If you wouldn't mind, could you PM me what you've got?  I'm also curious about whether or not you've got a complete Metroid Prime rip, and I don't mean the typical 44 track one.  Not necessarily for me to get it from you, but to compare it to the 53 track one I've got... err, 52 if you discount the Zhaytee MP Demo song.

Thanks!
I have the Metroid Prime soundtrack, along with the song that's not included on it (forgot which one it is, I think the furnace). It's not my rip, just a downloaded cd. Great soundtrack though.

Never done any Metroid music rips yet (this would be my first), but since I have all of my systems hooked up, I can record from any of them if anyone wants. I'm thinking I'll do the Super Metroid tracks next.

As for what I've ripped so far, here's a list of them (just off the top of my head):

PSX Doom
PSX Final Doom
Doom 64
SNES Doom
Doom 1 GBA
Doom 2 GBA
32X Doom
Quake
Quake 64
Quake 2
Blood
PSX Hexen
PSX Dark Forces
PSX Descent
Descent 2
Hexen 64
Earthworm Jim: Special Edition
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 4: Turtles in Time
Prince of Persia SNES
Super Castlevania 4
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
Castlevania: Lament of Innocence
PSX Disruptor
PSX Powerslave
Wolfenstein 3D (for Macintosh)
Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake

I'm pretty sure there's more. I'd check on my ftp (I'm at work now), but it appears to be offline. Might've forgot to enable the account. :(

Now that I have a Gameboy Player for the Gamecube, I'll be re-recording my GBA rips, since the sound coming out of the Gamecube is MUCH better than a tinny headphone jack. :P

Oh, and my avatar is from Primal for the PS2. It's the main character, Jen. Awesome game. I found the full picture on some japanese news site.
I am also new here.(I cant decide what is better, Metroid Prime or F-ZERO GX)
Welcome, new peoples.

elbryan42, I too would be intersted in any Metroid rips you happen to do.
There's only one thing keeping me from starting recording. THOSE DAMN BLACK PIRATES! It's a different story when I can't use save states. :( I beat Mecha Ridley, only to die in seconds by those two on hard mode. The sound test is so close, and yet so far. I'm practiciing on VBA right now so I can beat them on the actual cart.

I've seen the low percent speed run, but it's harder than it looks when the pirates are breathing down your neck with but 4 hits to kill you. I had one down to one or two hits left, and I choked. :(

indeed. and i repeat:

I've got a pretty good method for beating them. After coming in through the passage at the top, and immidiatly taking care of the red pirate that follows you, drop down so the black pirates notice you then immidiatly go back up again. Stand near the edge of the wall they'll climb up and aim diagonally down. When they come up, shoot like crazy. For some reason, instead of continuing up, they'll stop and attempt to shoot back, but shot away from you instead. I can beat them easily without taking a single hit this way.

Forgot to answer. Sorry about that. Just checked out the site. Pretty awesome, since I love Megaman almost as much as I love Metroid. :P I already downloaded the Megaman X soundtracks off of bittorrent, but I've been looking for the rest of the soundtracks, and now I've found them! Thanks! :)
yeah, hope you enjoy that stuff. mega man x2 and x3 need to be re-recorded (those are from 1998 X_x) but the rest i believe you will find up to snuff. i run that site, btw.
Well, you have great sites, and great tastes in games too. ;)

Being a fellow website developer, I enjoy the simple sites that are smartly made, much like my own. I may have game graphics on my sites, but I stay away from flashy stuff like animation and music, and it's nice to see that others feel the same way about simple yet informative websites, with great content.

Now, one of these days I should continute working on the Castlevania Treasury. I have a walkthrough for Dracula X: Rondo of Blood to finish. :P

BTW, just listening to the Super Metroid music, and not to be too critical, but it sounds awfully muffled. Do you plan on redoing those as well? If not, I can do them, Soundforge is a great program. ;)

Oh, and if anyone wants my videogame rips, they're on my ftp at:

ftp://aq:aq@24.72.120.142/

I probably have to redo some of mine too. I've went through a lot of recording, and I'm always perfecting. ;)
Thanks Light of Day! That did the trick. :)

Recording will commence immediately. Tracks will be done tomorrow nite (I have to work all day tomorrow).
Welcome :D

(I'm relativ new here, too ;) )
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! :)

Recording the ZM music took longer than I expected. It seems there's 10 or so tracks that aren't in the sound test, so I had to record directly from the game (I really didn't mind playing through ZM again. :P). So some editing left, then encoding. I'm guessing tonight or tomorrow afternoon the mp3s will be online.

could you elaborate on 'awfully muffled'? i was not aware of any way in which i could increase the quality of those files. i used cool edit pro 2.0. you are, of course, welcome to try!

:?  ?
Chozo:  German doesn't have any silent vowels.  They also have words like the "genitiv" that end suddenly like that.
Now I understand...

I am indeed German

but the funnier thing is that it actually was only a typo....
naja, natürlich würden deutschen diese art von tippfehlern machen.

fehler sind nicht so ziellos wie man denkt. ;)
An American who can speak German? A Samus thumb up :D
danke ;D ist aber mein hauptfach hier an der uni. muss immer richtig sprechen/schreiben. X_x
