I wish old school shooters where you're just a lone dude traveling through a huge gauntlet. All these war sims are kind of boring with their checkpoints and mission objectives.

there's still plenty of those, and i think many are just as good

they're just not marketed well and you probably never thought to play them

I've actually never played one, I'm just so sick of seeing and hearing them right now that the thought of trying one makes me want to throw up. Fighting games are similar.
