It's just that because it's been known to happen before, my mind immediately went to the worst case scenario where a game ends up being less than it could have been because a developer adds in a feature (doesn't have to just be multiplayer) that doesn't mesh with the direction the rest of the game is going in.
I'm not sure that's much of a worry, Nintendo has historically not been afraid to delay Zelda releases repeatedly so it's unlikely that we'll end up with an AssCreed3 deal where you've got a whole boatload of underdeveloped ideas bouncing around.
i dunno, i think that's exactly what happened with skyward sword. still a good game, but not a great one.
I don't know with SS I think it was mainly just typical modern Zelda "shit is only useful once" implementation of things rather than not giving themselves time to actually fully implement shit. Like I get the impression that they weren't really going to do much more with like the sky, hence the blatant game length padding.
yeah would be cool, typically those are the best zelda games
Other than Zelda 1 which ones are you thinking of, exactly? I can see how parts of Majora could count but the dungeon order is relatively set unless you SB, isn't it?
what's wrong with sequence breaking? oot, alttp, and the original were the ones i had in mind (though i don't care for the original or alttp i know lots of people love them)
and yeah mm too to some extent. while the dungeon order is mostly set pretty much everything else in the game can be done whenever you want (or not at all)
Oh no, I don't have a problem with SBs at all. What I was referring to was the intended path the developers or the story suggests you do things, which pretty much all of the Zelda games I can think of have for the most part.

not loz or alttp.
but again, aside from the fact that we have no clue what the developers intended, who cares what the developers intended?
