to embed your own livestream, copy and paste the embed link (starts with "<object>"). then remove everything after the closing </object> tag and paste what's left into your post. might also want to change the width and height values to 400 and 320 respectively (this better fits the width of static posts and matches ustream's default size).

sample of what you want in your post (taken from lag's thread):

Code:
<object width="400" height="320" id="lsplayer" classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"><param name="movie" value="http://cdn.livestream.com/grid/LSPlayer.swf?channel=lagdotcom&amp;autoPlay=false"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed name="lsplayer" wmode="transparent" src="http://cdn.livestream.com/grid/LSPlayer.swf?channel=lagdotcom&amp;autoPlay=false" width="400" height="320" allowScriptAccess="always" allowFullScreen="true" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"></embed></object>
Thread title:
i don't get why we need to "support" different providers. why not just let people paste in the embed code like they can now? that's what everyone seems to want to do anyway.

Oh you can just use the stream URL? lol, I got the embed url anyway.
^ point.

Well, that's because nothing in the "using this board" thread states that you can just use the channel url. So I just thought "Alright, I want the stream to be embedded in the post! So obviously, I need to get the link that says "Embed" on it!"
yeah, so it looks like everything is as it should be (cue monster ed).

for some reason last night i thought i saw an alternate "embed link" like ustream has. so it would have made sense for us to support that too. however looking now i can't find anything like that so i must have been really tired or something.

what's worse is that it looks like ustream doesn't even have that anymore, so you have to use the <object> embed code. oh well.
