I mean, really. That post about the little Mega Man/Samus game was lame and overblown. I respect this site too much to let it pull stupid stunts that evil faceless companies produce...  :(

If you knew Tim, you'd know why he considers this to be extremely newsworthy. Besides, it's relavent, and certianly one of the best put together flash games on Newgrounds I've ever seen.

And, evil faceless companies? It's a fan-made game. Just one guy. That's neither faceless NOR a company. I can't speak for the evil part.

Anyway, I considered it newsworthy for a few reasons.

One: it's been posted on a lot of Mega Man sites.
Two: how often do you actually see this site get updated with newsbits?
Three: it's something funny for the fans of both MM and Samus to try out.
Four: Admin's discretion ;)

Heh, I have to tell you that before Tim, I didn't know anyone who really cared at all about Mega Man. That unfortunate fact cost me dearly in the last GFAQs Character Battle...  Wink

Well, yeah. You have a spiffy site design, and it's clear you care about your subject matter. That's what makes a professional look on the internet, at least to me.

Every professional site has to kid around or do something goofy to maintain an aura of spontaneity - if all we did was report strict news or updates, and maintain that cold feeling the site's been doing for a while, then I wouldn't really like it. I love being able to just throw stuff out there, like we do all the time with MMN. :)

I saw no problem with it.  1. This is a Metroid site.  2. Tim (who runs the site) is a huge Mega Man fan.  3. It's relevant.  4. This site has a sister site (sort of) which is a big Mega Man site that Tim is on the staff of.  So in my opinion it's just a little thing that some people may like.  Nothing big.

the word "Synergy" made me think of diablo II.

I actually enjoyed the flash game, wish it had some kinda powerup in a far-away corner or something though.
