first of all, to be on topic: nice new oob test run sparky :)
i really hope the new oob tricks will help you reach your 59 minute goal. as for my non-oob run i hope to reach 1:01. i wouldn't be satisfied with a 1:02.

now to get off topic: Alright there are several issues that need to be clarified. where to start:

oh yeah? but what you didn't keep in mind is that sparky is doing a test run that's why he's processing so quickly. and i am doing a proper run. also psalmgore was right, at moment i really don't have so much time left to work on my run, and i think i told it to a few people. university is taking a lot of time. whenever i have some free time i try to work on my run, and i can't wait till summer vacation so i can have lots of time. however, i am not going to publicise any more segments of my run, and i regret that i ever publicised the first 4 segments of my run. it wouldn't be worth it anyway as i would end up earning much more disrespect from this community anyway (instead of earning respect - which i think i deserve more than earning disrespect). if a few people that i like (like sparky, paraxade, nate, djgrenola, master-88, stefan van dijke, etc.) wish to keep track of my run they can pm me on youtube or via e-mail address (if they ask for my e-mail address i would tell them) and i would send them my new segments.

and to all my haters here: i'd like to let you know one thing guys: i don't do speedruns for you! do you really think i keep doing speedruns to keep earning disrespect from you? No, definitely not! i make speedruns for two reasons: because i'm a perfectionist (someone who wants a perfect speedrun) and secondly because i do it for myself. got me? i do it for MYSELF. not for you but for myself.

Why is it that every time a run gets started some little comment gets blown out of proportion and one of the best runners leaves for X months? zoid, you have a perfectionist playstyle and as a result your runs take a long time to produce. Of course, the quality of such runs is high. I highly doubt people here are trying to insult you. Unless there have been nasty pm's or something going on behind the scenes, this seems a little rash. People are just glad to see another runner tackle Prime again.

Anyway, would have been better if he kept it to PMs and out of a topic about a pretty cool run in progress. Because seriously that last segment was pretty sexy, it looked for damn sure that he wasn't going to make that Suntower climb.

@MPzoid - I know, I'm new to this community. Although, technically, I've been following progress on Metroid Prime ever since its first release. Anyhow, you don't know me. But, trust me when I say that by large, people in here respect you and your work on the game. Personally, I think you're one of the best runners the game has ever seen. Which is not to discount the amazing work of all other very skilled runners currently or previously active. But, well, single segment 1:06... is a very tough act to follow. My point being - before you judge the community at large too harshly, please remember that one bad apple is, well, just one. It would be a shame for this community to lose your insights into the game just because of the poorly chosen words of one individual.

@Bartendorsparky - One word: wow! I remember the progress of the 100% Super Metroid record. During one of her previous records, Red Scarlet was still not very much accustomed to using the Mockball. It was a nice record regardless. Anyhow, some records later her current 0:55 was completed and it's filled with Mockballs. Your current use of Scan Dashes reminds me of that. It's just amazing how well you manage your position through those 4 segments so far. If the rest of this run of yours keeps this level of positional control up... well, again, just one word: wow!

@M2K2 community at large: It would suit some of you to remember that Metroid Prime is just a game and that any active runner of it is spending real life time on their runs. Time that sometimes simply isn't there to be spent on the game. So, anyone not willing to demonstrate a little patience - I dare you to do what MPzoid, Bartendorsparky or anyone else (previously) running the game has done. Walk in their shoes for a while before opening your proverbial mouths again.

well, if i have misunderstood a few things, i'm sorry. and sorry if i misunderstood biospark's and mr.x's comments. and also i'm saying it again that i have no problems with sparky's popularity, i'm a fan of his style as well. but i was having a problem with my own unpopularity. and mr.x's comment or biospark's comment weren't the trigger for this discussion but actually it was ark's ironic (yet direct) comment in the "best times"-topic that triggered this discussion and i'm pretty sure i didn't misunderstand ark's comment! however sorry that i spoilt your thread with my drama sparky :(

He didn't force you go off on a tangent about it though, that and any silliness resulting from it are your fault. Especially if you do these runs for yourself as you claim, if that were the case why should you care about popularity or respect? Having three or so people on the internet actually dislike you is not exactly the worst thing in the world, that's probably a lower number than most people have.

Ark made one comment in one thread and you carried into two, one of which was entirely unrelated. You got a beef with him, fine, take it to PMs instead of throwing a two thread tantrum and hijacking an interesting thread in the process. I'm glad you take pride in your runs but unless some one makes a thread dedicated to tearing them apart minute by minute there's no reason for that kind of reaction.
