Thread title:
I did it a couple days ago.
I answered that I'm interested in a new Classicvania (I suggested something like CV3 with alternate paths and characters), Contra, Gradius, Parodius, Sunset Riders, Rocket Knight and Mystical Ninja. There were at least 3 franchises in that page that I had literally never heard of.
When they asked what I expect/like best about these games, I said:
Castlevania -- whip gameplay, horror creatures, good challenge
Contra -- fast paced action, responsive controls, level variety
Gradius -- high risk high reward gameplay
Parodius -- sense of humor, Konami references, less difficult than Gradius (but I said it's okay that Gradius is difficult)
Rocket Knight -- practically limitless mobility
Mystical Ninja -- Japanese style, balance between town levels and action levels
Sunset Riders -- it's Contra in the Old West!
