wow xenoblade chronicles's price has skyrocketed ... glad i got it when i did
makes me wonder if i should preorder ni no kuni for fear of the same thing happening with that game ... i want to play it but don't really have time atm
I remember reading a while back that they wanted the next Rocksteady Batman game to be in the vein of the 60's TV show, which would be pretty much the greatest thing ever.

oh crap. i'm glad its only gone up by about 7€ here so far. i plan on getting it next month
A lot of games have been going up quickly recently, it sucks. At least my game collection has also increased in value, not that I plan on selling any of it.
Nintendo just laid out their plans for 1st party Wii U games. Mostly the usual suspects from the looks of things, but there are a few surprises.
Confirmed to be shown at E3: - Mario game designed by the Galaxy 2/Mario 3D Land team - Mario Kart - Smash Bros
Working on: - Yoshi game designed by the Kirby's Epic Yarn team (In the same art style!) - Zelda (Sounds like they plan on shaking things up again with this one) - WIND WAKER HD
Personally out of everything on that list I think I'm interested in Yoshi the most. I loved the Epic Yarn art style and it should go great with a Yoshi's Island game like I'm hoping this one turns out to be. That said, the few screenshots they demoed of Windfall Island look awesome so there's a good chance I'm going to check out Wind Waker HD at some point since it's one of my favorite Zeldas.
wow, all of those sound awesome and i'll buy them all - except mario kart because fuck mario kart.

Apparently a Xenoblade sequel/followup is also coming out... Now with mechs!
*sigh* God damn it, Tetsuya Takahashi. I thought you were tired of those. :|
there were mechs in the first game too, you just couldn't control them. considering your main enemy for much of the game is a huge army of mechanical monsters, putting player-controlled mechs into the game makes sense.
that said, i've never really enjoyed mech games, but i can't imagine xb2's gameplay will be radically different from the first. can't wait.

You mean this?
But yeah for Zelda they said they plan to "rethink the conventions of Zelda" by taking a look at how you have to defeat the dungeons in a certain order... and that you play them by yourself. That second one makes me a little afraid, not going to lie.

Could mean they're just looking at using the internet to do a Dark Souls thing where people leave tips or whatever in dungeons. Could mean a lot of things.
They really do need to take a hard look at Zelda's conventions though, so I'm glad they're at least realize that people want them to. Seemed like with Skyward Sword the parts of it that felt the least Zelda were the strongest. Whether that's because of poor execution on Nintendo's part or Zelda being kinda stale is debatable.

Guess you have a point there. In the end it comes down to what they have in mind and how it's implemented. If it turns out to be something cool that works within this new Zelda formula they're working on, even better. It's just that because it's been known to happen before, my mind immediately went to the worst case scenario where a game ends up being less than it could have been because a developer adds in a feature (doesn't have to just be multiplayer) that doesn't mesh with the direction the rest of the game is going in.
