http://www.angelfire.com/planet/interdpth/ZeroFission.zip

It's Angelfire, which means you're gonna have to copy and paste the link into your address bar or right click - save link as
When i Right click and Save ass, i get a 10 kb file with no content =(

EDIT: Damn i'm noob, i got zero fission now.
Is it mine Zero mission or do you all have purple lay out? Everything is purple here.
probably yours. mine doesnt do that
2 seconds later edit: how do you add remove water?
I can't seem to add water myself =(. btw my zero fission changed to colors suddenly.
so it's not purple anymore? weird...
shouldn't this topic be like, pinned?
As you can see not many people are interested by Zero Fission. I stopped making mine hack because of the elevator glitch and because I could't change enemies properly. I could only change the room.

where? you can always make it beatable. there is always an alternative. unless it's the Norfair<-->Crateria one. THEN you are stuck. Improvising=good idea

Advice: NEVER mess with the following rooms to prevent elevator glitches:
1st room of an Area.
(Norfair) that Norfair<-->Kraid room
That Room that is Crateria<-->Norfair
(Tourian)That Big shaft thingy that is Tourian<-->Crateria

and the rooms on top of an elevator?, well, i'm not sure :/. i haven't messed with them... except for the music.

Saving, without touching anything else, is enough to make the  elevator glitch happen. This means you can edit the rooms on top the elevator. Atleast for the ones you've changed the music.

I just went looking how i got the elevator glitch and found where I went wrong. I edited the Norfair<-->Kraid room. And then the elevator in Norfair went crazy.

BTW can anybody change room 2A in Norfair?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

In order to add water, you need to use the Water clipdata (1B). It won't show up on its own, though; you'll need to create images for it in the TSA editor. If the clipdata for an ingame water block is water, you can set it to "No Block (00)" or whatever else you want, but sometimes it appears that ingame acid doesn't have any clipdata value, which makes me sad. Examples of what I'm talking about are the Varia puzzle and the Charge Worm+First Missile room.

Is it supposed to be possible to edit Chozodia? Every time I try to load it, I get "Runtime error '9' Subscript out of range." I don't get this with any other area, though...

Also, a bit of explanation as to how enemies seem to work: when you right-click on a sprite and choose to edit the enemy, the number you type in will determine the value (11-1E, where entering 1 gets 11 and 14 gets 1E) and only the value of that enemy. You cannot edit the type or detail; they don't appear to exist in any room other than where they've been preprogrammed originally. I'm curious as to how ultramailman got bombs to appear in the first room, though...

that happened to me too. luckily the Norfair<--> Crateria Room still worked so i used the power grip event to make it possible to get out. you should
a) do this.
b) redo your project.

AAAAARG I can't save my rooms anymore =/, I can save them, but the rom doesn't seem to change the ROM =/. Does anyoe also has this. Or is it just jolly ol' me?

EDIT: Eeerg, I IPS patched a original MZM ROM to Juice metroid and now I can change again... wtf has happened!?!?
Hello, I'm new here, but I am having a couple problems with Zero Fission.

1. I edited the minimap data, and then found that ingame the map was buggy and filled with garbage, as was the status screen. Does anyone know what is going on and/or how I could fix it?

2. I started a hack, edited a few rooms, playtested it and saved. After that I edited a few more rooms, opened up the saved file, and found that my edits were in there. I then edited a few more rooms, opened up the same file, and found that I was trapped on the Save machine. I couldn't move or bring up the map, even though I hadn't edited that save room. Does anyone know how to fix this/avoid it in the future?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
For your second issue, try opening the memory viewer and setting value 030013D4 to 01. If that doesn't work, try restarting the game, and if you're still stuck, you'll probably have to restart the hack.
Where would one find the memory viewer? (Sorry but I'm a bit new to Zero Fission too.)
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The memory viewer is in the VBA. Go to Tools -> Debug -> Memory viewer if you are using the version from Bisqwit's site, or just Tools -> Memory viewer if you are using the official version.
Thanks, that got me out of the Save machine, but unfortunately the game is still all glitched up, so I'll have to restart the hack. Oh well. It's not like it'll take that long to recreated any way. Thanks though.
Metroid Exp: Exploration - Great, Skills - Decent
Interdepth would be kind enough to post the links for Double Helix, the successor to Zero Fission. However, Double Helix is very buggy right now.

You can also discuss Double Helix and Zero Fission by going to irc://irc.esper.net:6667/jzd (I tried to make this into a clickable URL but the forum insisted on adding http:// at the beginning which would produce a page error.)
