It took me like three hours to get it all to come together... I'm pretty sure I'm going to be racist to all forms of aquatic life for the rest of my days. :P

It didn't help that I got up into that last room six times, then either getting hit by the fish nearest the door, or my nerves getting the better of me and I Boost Jumped straight into the ceiling... Rolling Eyes

Anyway, I just felt like sharing. I feel totally satisfied with my little accomplishment; enough so that I saved before the Navigation Room, then copied that file onto the last slot just to keep.  Laughing  8)

Congrats!

I have yet to try out this little stunt.

I don't have any love for complex boost puzzles though and this one doesn't sound like its a walk in the park.
It's probably the hardest puzzle in the entire Metroid series. I can't think of anything I've ever had to retry that many times. At first it's not too bad, but once you get into that freaking vertical zig-zag room with fish and crabs, you will want to stab Flipper to death with a pitchfork. There's so many random factors in that room. Good luck if you try it, it's a royal pain.
I tried it the other day on my GBA, and I didn't really find it to be all that hard.  I messed up maybe 4-5 times doing it, and it was only my first time attempting it :D
I think the shinespark trick becomes very mellow once you do the stuff needed for all the expansions and whatnot.

I had some trouble with it myself when I first tried it, took me about 20 tries probably, but I hadn't seen any videos of it or anything, just heard bad descriptions  :?  I made significant use of power bombs to clear that vertical room out, too.  Recharging, laying a power bomb, then recharging on the same slope, then moving on.

I intend to do it during my 1% too, really get in there and optimize the thing.  I won't save after of course, as it'd be a time waster, but I figure what the hey, the run's about showmanship and that trick is nothing but  :P
Hm... yeah, I think laying Power Bombs there might have been a good idea. I hadn't heard much of anything outside of a few descriptions either. When I got into that room, I charged, jumped up, charged right, usually fired three shots up-left to clear fishes, charged while charging beam, did the three space jumps, etc. I think the only time I fired (until the last room there) was at that first ledge.

A trick to make it go as fast as possible is to use a normal bomb, not a Power Bomb right at the start (when you have to drop down). Boost in, charge, drop bomb right where you charge, Shoulder Dash right (the good thing about this is that, if the seahorse-looking guy went up to start, he'll get killed by this on his way down), then drop down as the bomb will be exploding. The only problem with that is you need to get that blue fish below you to either head left, or already be moving right when you start dropping, or else you can't touch the ground in time to Shoulder Charge right.
You deserve a pat on the back for pulling it off! I tried for hours last night and only got into the room going up. EVERY time I get up a wee bit some dumb fish hits me!

I heard about this, but what does the Secret Message say?  I heard it was a

conversation between you, Adam, and the mystery dude.  but I don't know what is said.
