So, I made this subject to ask for possible help on a route, that is if mine isn't good enough. This is what I was thinking:

Do things
Ball
Do stuff
Missle
Do more stuff
Bomb
Corridor E-tank
Mock Ball SM
Missle near CB
PB up shaft
PB above first/near kraid
E-tank near HJB
Ice Beam
X-ray
Jump over E-tank to get SM where WallJump furballs are
PB at the top of the shaft

Think that's a good way of taking it? It seems to have the least amount of down time as far as I know. It likely may not be, considering I thought of this within an hour of playing the run. There is a very very good chance I will have to get a second Energy tank. Unless I can do some serious luck abuse, I don't think I could make it out after getting the Ice Beam. Honestly, at full energy and going through as fast as possible, and on the way out of the IB room, I get 3 20 energy drops, I still wouldn't make it out. With 2 energy tanks, I can get to the IB room with about 130-140 energy. By the time I kill the 3 mobs and get to the room below again, I have maybe if I am lucky, 50 energy. If really lucky, like 100. That's saying all big energies. Right there is the whole E-tank I need for the area. At 49 energy and quite a bit of slip ups, I had 1 energy when I got out of the heat @.@ So yeah, 12% isn't possible as far as I can tell, 13% definitely is.

Anyone have some suggestions on some routes for me if mine isn't the best?

EDIT:
Ok, I had to make some adjustments to this route. I forgot about the blue gate on the way back to the furballs. So, I was thinking this instead. Again, don't be afraid to let me know if there is a better way.

Ball
Missle
Bomb
E-Tank
SM
Missle
E-Tank
Ice Beam
PB
PB
X-Ray
SM
PB

These are all the same items that I mentioned before. Instead of going through the blue gate, I go up the shaft(lol)and grab both the PBs, go back for the x-ray, back up the shaft, return to my ship, and go back down to Brinstar and grab the SM and PB with the WJ area. Go back up and get into Tourian

Saves:
After Ceres
When I enter Brinstar
After I collect everything, in Brinstar same location
After I get into Tourian
Before Mother Brain

So, what do you guys think? I just want minimal saves here, but minimal aggravation as well.
Thread title:
Can you not save after Ceres, or is there some 端ber-hard trick to this run after that I'm forgetting? 4 saves would be enough in my opinion.

You technically save after Ceres. Once you finish and reset, you are on Crateria. So I consider it a save.
Also, just realized an error in my run... I will make adjustments.
Almost happy
Maybe the second super missile you take could be the one you get after spore spawn, and get the 3rd PB from the room with the acid above your ship. This would save you a backtracking trip to Green Brinstar, and would also make it possible for you to save at the ship and recharge all of you ammo and health just before going to Tourian (since you need all the ammo for a CF).

For saves I'd say Green Brinstar, Red Brinstar after the PB's (before X-ray room, which will be very hard), the ship, Tourian and before MB. None of these saves are out of route, and would make your life a lot easier.

You should also open the red door to the statue room on your first way through there, otherwise you will need to get a super or 5 missiles after opening it before going in to the room. You can then refill the missiles on the creatures from the Kagos before Brinstar.

Oh, and now that I think of it, you could do a lower% run if you use space/time beam. I think You only need ball, missile, bomb, super, pb, gravity, spazer, ice, plasma and charge (10%). Due to how long wallcrawling will take unassisted it would probably be faster as well, even though you have to kill Phaton and Draygon. Maybe you prefer to do it without that glitch though.

Maybe later on that 10%. Fighting Draygon is a bitch if you don't have the right equips. I never actually watched Saturn or Hotarubi fight Draygon on their low % games, so I wouldn't know how to fight them just yet anyway. As far as ST goes, I don't mind using it, but the getting it is the biggest problem for me. Do you know if there is anyway you can Xray into the Plasma room? If I could, I wouldn't completely mind doing it.

Also, the PB at the top of the crateria surface, you sure it would be faster? Since, for both the SM and PB, I have to go out of my way to get them. Maybe you can do a TAS test for me? See how long it takes for you to get both the SM and PB on both routes. The separate ones, doesn't matter where you start. I would start at the point of first jump to Ball Bomb and just in front of the entrance to the SM. The other, start from the ship and see how long it takes to get back. See which was quicker. I honestly find it kind of close.

It is possible, but probably to complex to do unassisted.

Well, I think they are close, but the main selling point of my strategy is that you can refill at the ship after that PB, so you don't need to refill everything manually from enemy drops.
Alright.. And I also ran into a bit of an issue. In the statue room, I crystal flash when I get as high as possible on the door. It moves me up, but right when I crouch to xray, I am back where I was. First xray climb drops me.

You shouldn't do the crystal flash until you see that you are not moving upwards any more, I think that is just a bit before you get of screen for the first time.

It is literally on the door where I just stay in one spot. Please show me where you mean and show me an SMV of you doing this in real time. I am obviously doing something wrong. I can only get 1 pixel into the door using the jump method.

Hmm, it seems that depending on your horizontal position you can climb a few pixles more or less before doing the CF, so you need to get a good position. I checked Kejardons first NBMB run and he got stuck 2 pixels into the door. I don't know how you could do this reliably.
Well, if I can just get a better understanding of how to get stuck in the doors, I could do it.
