2.  On the Techniques page, do we really need to list the old techniques.  They are on the MP2 wiki and the main site.

I'm fairly new here, but I think they're pretty important, if not putting them there, there should at least be a link so people who don't know to look in the MP2 wiki and just got MP3 can view all the techniques right there. Anyways that is just my two cents, a link would be adaquite though and then you could remove them and still have easy access to the data.
For the most part, when I created the initial setup for the wiki I directly copied the locations for everything from the Echoes one. If things need to be organized better I have no problem with that.

And the old techinque section was going to be for any of our old techniques that we found still survived into Corruption in their original or modified forms in case anyone was trying to duplicate them. But it might be better if we just merge the two sections together in that page into one single technique category, now that you mention it.

Most of your other suggestions sound pretty good to me.
Alright, I've been thinking of adding in all these new developments to the wiki, but I've been somewhat hesitant as my skills at speed running and sequence breaking are probably below average for this board (I meet my limit at BSJs, space jump first in Prime 1, and triple bomb jumps, sad as that is.)  I suppose my question is, should I put up the basic steps for them on the wiki, or let someone more skilled describe it better?
not evil,just hungry
ok, I did #3.  I'll add #1 once I get a decent partial list together.  Looks like Prime Hunter did #2.
I can't seem to do #4 because it will not let me move Completed Speed Runs to Speed Runs, even when Speed Runs was empty.

@ PessimistByNature:  If you can make a decent description, fell free to add them.
I've been having trouble creating an account for the wiki. Any suggestions?
I think you still have to run that by Nate, since he has to give anyone who wants to use the wiki an account the last thing I knew.
modified the first post a bit since apparently even forum regulars aren't reading it.
I changed the Speedruns page so that it directly links to the page with the times. Also re-worked the speedrun page, better readability IMO. Added boss tricks found in the topics in the last few days, with petrie911's videos. (Hope you don't mind)

:(
it wasn't just you.
Thanks to getting the strategy guide today so I could continue my collection of Metroid guides, I now have the complete listing of where every Friend, Gold, Blue, and Red Token can be found in the game. I've gotten most of it up as of now, except the 108 Red Token listing. I'm going to take a break for a little while before tackling that.

The guide has every scan listed in the order they first appear in the game, but I felt it was better to set it up like the Logbook has it to make it easier to see which ones you're personally missing. On the wiki, the LORE scans are in the order they are listed in the Logbook, but the Creatures and Research will be in alphabetical order, but divided into sections based on their location. The areas I listed are the first area that these can be found in, and there are obviously other places to find many of the creatures and some of the research.

Once I get the creature scans listed on the wiki I'll let you know here.

Edit: Everythings's all set now.
made the link and a new access link huge too since apparently people can't figure out how to get there.
“Well done is better than well said”
Awesome Nate.  Thanks.
After working on the wiki a while I think it would be appropriate to add a "Recent Major Additions" section to the main page for any major findings such as secret worlds and sequence breaks so that people don't have to continually check the pages.

I'm working right now on a temporary one (playing around to see what looks and works best without cluttering the page) until we can get a dedicated section since I'm sure no one really wants to scrounge through all of the recent changes section to find out what the major additions are. Wink

EDIT: I was also thinking about a "How you can help." part on the directory so that we can post exactly what the sequence breakers need to find at the moment so people can get out there and try it because right now most people seem to be wanting to find a SW that lets them get the Spiderball early since they already have an exit SW. More people looking means a better chance of finding it right?  :o  Also, sorry for some of the minor edits appearing as major in recent changes since for some reason my minor edit button wasn't working until I rebooted.

Well don't I just feel like a moron. :(
Any chance a list of the unlockables and what they are will be put up there?

If you really want, I can put it up under the token section.
I was looking through the wiki, and the two BSJ videos are not working anymore. (Due to Paraxade not using Youtube anymore I think.) Not sure if there are other videos on the site that are down, but I thought I'd point these out specifically because of how many skills rely on BSJs.
I replaced the majority of the broken links with the links to the vids on Filefront.

I also rerecorded the Aurora Chamber e-cells skip, so I'll fix that in a moment. As for SW2, if anyone else wants to rerecord that go on ahead. If no one else does, I'll do it (the only reason I haven't already is Hazard Shield being skipped and my doing low%).

EDIT: By the way, I noticed the broken BSJ links earlier, but I didn't fix them because I didn't know what vids they were.

The 2BSJ video was the one where you skip having to rip off the panels on the wall in Bryyo. As for the 1BSJ I'm not quite sure, any general video of a normal BSJ will do though. :P
Links are fixed.

I dont know if this helps you guys but I believe there is a mediawiki extension to embed youtube videos on wiki pages. Check the mediawiki meta-wiki.
do we really want to do that?

wouldn't that be better than having to go to the youtube site and then hitting back in the browser? it's just a convinence thing (and all you do is something like <youtube>video code</youtube>).

I was going to give you an example but the site i've been using recently moved to wikia and all the youtube links broke (apparently uses a different syntax there)

I suggested this because of so many ppl using youtube to get their videos up quickly.
