Toozin, do you ever read the screen-names of people you argue against? Just a thought.

And actually, I'm gonna have to step in and say Metroid Fusion's design had been pretty excellent, imo. It really sucks that once you enter the appropriate sector, you're locked in until the end of the mission, but I recently tried entering other sectors and discovered they're usually open at the end of each mission. The main problem is you can't do anything in those sectors really, because the level design is so tightened up. I tried to get Varia from ARC last night only to discover the knockback damage from the cold literally prevented you from breaking through speedbooster blocks needed to continue.

I personally don't even mind the multi-level locks they used, even though I've complained about it in another game. At least those match the story. It's really only the times Adam locks you into a sector (or in one case, locks you in the nav room itself) that bug me. I also kind of dislike the cocoons placed to block morph ball tunnels, too.

The biggest issue I have about Fusion I'm surprised hasn't even been mentioned: All but one bit of dialogue in the game are completely unskippable, the one bit being the secret message that's only even more infuriating if you're skilled enough to find. In my first couple playthroughs, this had been fine, I had no intention of skipping the dialogue in the first place. But after the 239th or so run through, I have to admit, it starts to grind my gears a little. >_>

But regardless, I have to say overall, it's a good game if you don't have grand expectations of being a great space explorer. -> -> -> ->

What? I referred to him by name and spelled it right and everything this time. aiwebs_002

Yeah but do you understand the meaning of the name?

Well by his own admission it's because he's as ugly as a troll, but even if he is being an obvious troll I can still bloody call him an idiot, can't I?

Yeah, it's just that you look rather silly in doing so. It's almost as if you're choosing to pay attention to him.

I am. He amuses me.
METROID. IS. AWESOME!
Toozin needs to leave Trolltank alone.

I agree with what Trolltank said earlier about the SA-X creeping him out. I get creeped out mainly because I know it can easily kill me and that eerie music and the slow steps on the metal really add to the effect. The scariest moment with him/her (I guess I'll go with him.) is when you have to be chased by him. Then it's when you have to actually fight him.

I personally love Fusion and right now, I would say it's the best game ever. I don't know why, that's just how I feel about it. But I think Samus is more hot in Super Metroid.

Some things I don't understand about Fusion. If you don't want the X to spread then why didn't they (Adam and Samus) have the station collide into Zebes in the beginning? I mean, I can understand why Adam wouldn't but it should come to mind for Samus. I know it's because there would be no game if that happened but you would think that's what Samus would do. And how come the Omega Metroid at the end couldn't fly? You might say it's because it had no room to fly in a tight tunnel or that it would make the boss too hard, but in Metroid II: Return of Samus, the different Metroids could somehow go through walls, even Omega ones. What's up with that?

Crashing into Zebes is a last resort.
Shooting the shit out of them can be done before that last resort has to be employed.
Zebes went boom at the end of SM. Fusion happened after SM.

Kinda thought so, but I didn't want to fact check. He musta been talking about SR-388 then?

Either way, the logic still holds.
METROID. IS. AWESOME!
Oh, I said Zebes. I meant SR-388. If you watch the end of fusion, SR-388 doesn't blow up, the BSL station blows up on it but it doesn't take SR-388 with it.

Last weekend, I took my GBA micro and my copy of Fusion to work, and, on the lunch time, I beated Fusion, and a friend of mine who also works there was completely astonished.
1:15 100% is lousy, but he got blown away by it:_P
1:15 100% is not lousy.
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
Far from it.  I doubt there are many players worldwide who could achive that time.  If that was just a casual 'whatever' run, you should consider going for the record, which currently sits at 1:13.
and unofficially at 1:11.
Didn't someone get 1:05 in a casual run not too long ago? (Not referencing Piggy's thread, BTW)

Definitely not. I still can't beat the game normally much faster than that when I'm at my best.

that time isn't possible.

Then it seems that I am better than I thought.
The problem is, I have to be like, really inspired, works the same way with MZM and SM. If I'm in a bad day, you can forget good times, because it's gonna be sucky-.-
i don't have bad days. fusion itself makes bad days.

But I do. For example, today, in early morning I was speedrunning Super, single segment, and I was about to start the Phantoon battle and my 3 year old sister enters my room, and puts herself in front of the TV and stuff-.-
