I hate it when people use "gay" as an insult to something.  I'm not offended or anything, I just think it's very immature.

gay is only a three letter word...its so easy to say!!

nothing else for fusion, if this was just a general videogame forum, id be talkin mad shit on it, but eh...
I see Fusion as a test run of the Zero Mission engine, with a few radical plot twists thrown in just because. It's still a very good game, but it's attractive in a different way. It just doesn't have the atmosphere a Metroid game does. Not once in Fusion do you have the sheer sense of being lost and alone you get in Super Metroid (especially when you SB before you know the game very well). I mean, the only challange I found in Fusion was some of the bosses were quite hard. In Super, I've STILL never figured out how to get through Maridia correctly, even after consulting two faqs and watching an emulator movie, I've never done it myself.

There are, however, two thing in Zero Mission I'd prefer to see done the Fusion way instead of the Super way: The shinespark, and the item indicators on the map.

lol...what an optimistic outlook.

but have you seen this?

every cell in my body anticipates this game.

so i suppose you aren't alone. ;)
Not impossible
just highly unlikely
I'm still oggling that morphed shinespark. I don't know why, but I think that's just the coolest thing in all of history.

It reminds me a little of the boost ball, only this is cool. You know, Zero Mission's graphics look so darn good I think I'm going to have to go out and get a Gameboy Player for it. Fortunatly, though, those videos confirm both things on my Zero Mission wish list made it in!
I already got a Gameboy Player.  It works really well.  I tried it out on Fusion.  Its perfect for stuff like that.

Which things were those?

Now that I have a gamboy player too, I agree with every word of that!

I wished for shinesparks that don't hurt and item indicators that let you know when you've collected the item. By the looks of the videos, we're getting both. :D

Shinesparks hurt? I played SM, and I don't remember the shinesparks hurting...
Yup. Your energy was continually drained while shinesparking. Not sure if you could kill yourself shinesparking, though/
When you get low (or hit 1, I don't remember which) the Shinespark automatically cancels.
Because you had Adam always telling you your next "objective" and he'd always lock the doors down so you couldn't go all about like in the older Metroids. Metroid is an exploration game, and having all of that done, kind of gets rid of that value. It just wasn't the same as the older/better ones. I still love and play Fusion from now and then, it's a good game..I know I don't hate it. I'm sure no true Metroid fan "hates" it.
Not impossible

Actually true Metroid fans are among those who hate it most of all, since it's such a departure from the standard formula.

I'm not saying people who like Fusion aren't true Metroid fans, just to clarify.
If you mean, dislike it the most, I agree with you. If you mean absolutley HATE it, I disagree with you.

In a side note, I've always hated when people say, "Well, real ____ la-de-da-de-da!" It usually never ends good. The only exception is when the group is something you don't want to be in... then the REAL part is still exclusionary, but you WANT to be excluded.

it happens at 30 energy left, i remembe this quite clearly.

I atually prefered it when shinesparks hurt, just made it seem more powerful and that you had to be careful where you used it.*cough*
i just thought it was a cool idea...

though the morph-ball shinespark is kick ass..

Of course, that wouldn't work in Fusion and ZM as opposed to Super, because Fusion and ZM have a ton of Shinespark puzzles, and you could probably go through 6 energy tanks getting some of the harder ones. Actually, I think that the shinespark puzzles are close to overused now... if the next 2D Metroid has as many as these two, that's not a good sign.

Agreed. In fact, I think they had more than enough in Fusion alone. That's not to say I don't think any new Metroid games shouldn't have any shinespark puzzles at all, just as long as they have new stuff too.
I liked Metroid Fusion in that it added a story to Metroid and had good graphics. that's where it ends though.

I didn't like being told where to go. A HUGE part of Metroid is its 'getting lost' factor. It would have been better to have a hints system like Metroid Prime rather than being told directly where to go.

And like was said the only time you get total freedom is when you're going to blow up the station, but by then you've been everywhere!

Thing I hated the most was the suit... Varia suit rules. It looks amazing. But then Fusion came along... and took away her cool looking armour and gave her a blob to wear...
