I think that if the 'A' energy thing is true then the Pirates won't be able to see the energy in that their visors aren't able to pick it up.

Samus using Chozo tech can 'see' the energy. Presumably Metroids can too...

Metroids probably see lifeforms AS a purple glow.... Maybe

Hmmm, I had removed Shockwave Flash from my Plug-ins folder because it was giving me crap, and this might be the time to give it another chance.  Restarting...

Looking good...It's loading.  Slowly.  I have a Mac OS 8.6 here.  But it's working!

Cool.  It's really hard to grasp parts of it ("Hello, little hamster-butterfly.  Good hamster-butterfly.  Hamster-butterfly, what are you doing with that gun?  Nooo!  ") but what I could get was very informative.  When chibi Samus walks up to Ridley, I couldn't help but think "Mister dragon, how many licks does it take to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop?"

I've heard the actual conversation there is just as hilarious.
Here's what I was thinking...

I'm thinking that the Space Piriates made this creatures with a certain type or chemical or Whatnot or that hey had to put a special type of thing inside to keep their sheilds up. But when Samus kills them, the sheild is left, because its not the Samus' suit that has health. Its her sheild, so the Space Pirates probably had no idea Samus could absorb these to restore sheild levels.

Thats what I think, but its probably not accurate.
you guys need to remember that even in metroid 2, where theres not a single hint of space pirate activity, at all, the enemies still drop energy.
That "powerup in a videogame" theory is starting to look more and more feasable right about now ;)

I like to think that they're item drops in a video game.

Yeah. I've always thought about it that way too. There are just curtain things in video games that can't be explained. As mentioned in an older topic: The laws of physics don't seem to apply in games. But If I were to explain it, I think that it's the monster's life force that Samus can absorb into her suit. But then again that would not explain those floating missiles. :?

Dude, that's awesome!  How can that rabbit-squirrel stand to hear it?

Edit:  I also went back and read the rest of it, too.  Is there any more translated?

And for that matter, if this is manga we're talking about here, why isn't the site organized so that the "previous" and "next" buttons are reversed?  I can read right to left, no problem, but it's disorienting to read right to left when the pages are still being turned left to right.  just a thought.  Nto that it matters, I'm still just as happy to be able to read the translated version.

not that we know of. i suggest we email the people who run that site and tell them how much we, big pompous ass self-important metroid 2002 sequence breaking speed running freaks, enjoyed the translation.

yeah, i thought that was sort of screwy, as well. guess it just didn't occur to them.
That place has the first two chapters of the e-manga translated, are there any more? I've never seen even the Japanese versions of the rest before.

They messed up the second chapter, though. They put the last nine pages at the beginning of it. To read it properly you'd have to start from here, then go back to the "start" of the chapter to get the rest of it.
alkaloid.. thats it. thats the "A" i was thinking of.

I was kind of wondering about that.

Alkaloid, then.  Now we have a name.
Mixed up or not the comic is very cool. Nice to be able to understand it!
Cook of the Sea
Yeah, it's very good.  However, the thing looks very American, or at least parts of it.  Samus looks very anime, but her father looks like Han Solo from Dark Empire!  Not that I'm dissing, I liked Dark Empire a whole bunch.
Understandable, yes. Is there a way to actually getting the comic? I'm thinking not.
If you mean in physical form, short of printing it yourself no. It was only ever published online.
Cook of the Sea
It's interesting the way that on the official site the whole thing is semi-animated.  I've never seen anything like that before.
I think it's interesting that the quality of those animations as about on par with the animation in the Zer Mission cutscenes. :P

It is a nice touch, though. Definately adds to it.
Cook of the Sea
They definitely went out of their way to tie in Zeor Mission with the e-manga.  And they did a good job.  Slightly off-topic, but did you notice that

in the fight to get you suit back, you can see a little collection of pixels near the base where Samus's drawing is?  A nice touch.  It's details like that that I like about Nintendo.
I kept on looking for that after my first play-through, but when I got to the point to look for it I kept forgetting! Thanks for confirming that it's there, Saber.
