What happens if... [spoilers]

What happens if you grab a beam ammo expansion, but don't have the beams? Does it give you both beams magically?
I would like to know because in Central Mining Access I am able to jump up to the turrets. At the time I first did this I didn't realize that shooting the power thingies in the room caused them to explode and let me get up to a beam ammo expansion.
I don't really want to start over until I beat it.
Any takers to try?

I'll try once I beat the game and start over (which looks like later today 8)). Somehow I doubt they'll give it to you but eh, worth a shot.

I believe the expansions simply won't be there. Oh well, someone's about to find out the truth anyway.

There's a way to get up to the Pirate turrets before getting the Light Beam, right? Some sort of crazy ghetto jump? You could get up to the turrets, blast open the way to the first ammo expansion before either beam...

Yeah, you can ghetto jump off of the beams(supports?) near the turrets. It's a pain for me to do though. i could do it real easily in the demo.

ah, too bad. Ekarderif tried it.. He got the one in the room with the turrets before light/dark beam. It didn't give him the beam though. :/

It seems that your percent count gets screwy as mine jumped 3% (as Andrew Mills pointed out) probably because it's counting the fact that I have Light/Dark Beams, which obviously isn't the case! Dunno if it's any use but it looks cool 8).

The reason I made 2 videos is because I managed to forget one of the shots for the cannon and had to ghetto up again. Go me...

Hooray!! you did it! very nice.
now if you beat the game at 100%, will it give you extra percents?
end up with 102%?

Just for clarification purposes, the Beam Ammo Expansion does not give you 3% as I had previously thought. I must have miss counted the number of items as I went back and gotten it for the standard 1%.
