ok one of the items i chose was hi-jump and i froze one of the creatures and wanted to jump on top of him but i just jumped right to the other side without touching the missile or the creatures so that worked  :D  but now ridley is very hard i tried the cheesing strat but somehow he always starts to swing his tail after i have shot al my missiles and super missiles and i die  Crying or Very sad  got tips?
When I kill him on harder difficulties (which is the same cause I had little energy tanks on hard) I spam ALL my missles, very fast at him, that will make him swing his tail. This is that hard part, morph and roll to dodge everywere. Then make use of all his fireballs and get ammo! Then spam!!! If he doesn't die by now (which he should cause I had little expansion  packs on my hard speed run), your screwed, concidering the rarity of energy fill-ups you get from the fireballs and that you probably got hit by Ridley. That's why the first part is tricky-est, getting all you can at him, and, if you can reload and more missles! I doubt that though cause he get into tail-mode FAST if you spam.

But if you are not going for speed, fire SLOWLY and he'll never tail-whip! :)
ok that will help does someone have any idea how much missiles or super missiles it takes before he dies? i have 5 missiles and 4 supers

I think that's the exact number for normal -- 5 supers and 5 missles=1 super. So yes I think.
Also, did you miss any shots? If you didn't, it's ten supers, doubt it, though.
For Ridley, fire SLOWLY and make sure not to fire at him while he's breathing fire (you can still shoot the fireballs themselves for refills, though). That should stop him tail-whipping.
I find he always does one tail-whipping near the beginning, no matter how slowly you fire. I just single wall jump to avoid it, then I follow under his feet the rest of the time, shooting the fireballs that he occasionally fires in front of him for ammo refills. Eventually he'll die.
no, it is possible to totally avoid the tail whipping. When the fight starts, constinuously shoot forward with your beam to destroy his fireballs, then IMMEDIATLY run under his claws. Stay directly under him at all times, fire slowly, and NEVER shoot him with missiles while he's breathing fire, and you shouldn't get a singel tail-whip.
when i fight him with super missles, i fire them all at the begining (before the stream of fire). if you shoot him with a super missle he will whip his tail unless you do that. or if you shoot 5 missles (i think thats right) continuously, you must wait like 3-5 seconds.
ok it works to stay under him and fire slowly but i still have to master the staying under his claws thingie but i got him to red once ^^
If you think he's tough, you're going to absolutely be murdered by the Mother Brain.

Or by her escape route. It usually takes me several tries to get out of there, even if I have Hi-Jump.
If you have the Screw Attack, you'll be OK against the Brain. The Rinkas won't do you much trouble that way, and since they drop stuff, that's even better.
