You take that back or Roger Waters will spit at you.
I like Pink Floyd well enough, but they get a lot more love than they really should. I need to be in a certain mood to really enjoy a lot of Darkside's stuff.
you know, i do like the wall a fair bit. usually not into "concept albums" like that with lyrics that jump up and smack you in the face but it's not bad at all for what it is.
I like Wish You Were Here better than both of those albums for some reason. It's probably 'cause of all the kickass instrumental sections in that album's songs. And the Wall has always been too dark and gritty for me. But that's probably because I had nightmares after watching the movie back when I was a little kid. That movie scared the living shit out of me. Even more than that close-up of SA-X's face in Fusion.

The Wall was a far better album anyway.
I have to be in the right mood for The Wall, but Dark Side is like a world created purely of sound and it guides you by the hand through the various soundscapes, drowning your senses.
They have that song in the playlist for the hotel lobby sound system where I work. I can't say I care for it. But I'd rather hear that than The Cars - Drive, and The Doors - Light My Fire.
There's another song by Don Henley... I don't recall what it is. But I hate that one too!
Both of those songs are good and Hotel California is still good, so I'm just going to be nice and chalk it up to having to hear them all the time and not to you being wrong.
You know, like when someone is just making a bunch of sounds because they can. "woooo i'm making music weeeee!" that is every intro to every Pink Floyd song in the history of the universe, it goes on for twenty minutes each time.
I always thought that's why Dark Side stood out as so good. Apart from Time, it's a collection of fairly accessible rock songs that come together to form forty minutes of continuous excellence.
the song on tdsotm that stands out to me is money ... i guess i've really "gotten" that song. is playing in 7/4 supposed to impress me? if not then why did they put the sounds at the beginning that jump out and say "hay look at us we're playing in 7/4" ?
I can't really hear the difference between the MGS3 soundtrack in FLAC as opposed to good ol' mp3, but I feel slightly cooler, and that's a good thing, right?
