My dad, being a programmer, knew about mp3s since the mid-90s and already had several thousand songs oh his computer before Napster even came around. It was kind of funny when we came here and the legality of that stuff started getting questioned. He was like "wow, these people just noticed?"
yeah, it's weird because both my parents are programmers too but never seemed to be into any of that sort of thing. still don't think either of them could rip a cd into itunes ...

who said the guy wants to release it commercially? using samples of popular songs is good a way to get noticed on the internet, and then people might want to check out your original stuff.
