So I guess I might as well, also. Here's a tune I just finished. Originally intended to be in a game we're doing as a school project, but as I'm also the lead programmer (damnit, how'd that happen??) I don't think I'll have the time to make more in the same style, so we might just as well end up with a musicless project. Ah well.

At least I got to do a TON of things I hadn't done before. Including using the QuadraSID plugin, one of them funky 80's basslines (I think I accidently ripped off part of Axl F), and one of them generic trance basslines I actually hate. I got to use a xylophone sound for the first time. I got to mess with frequencies to make the song blend in/pop out more at certain times. I got to try a subtle drum loop. (I usually go for much bass and much variation to make it stand out.) I also got to use a sound I recorded over two years ago that I've never had use for before!

It's pretty repetitive, but it helps if you imagine yourself being busy playing a game while listening to it.

Very cool. Repetitive can be good; this is one of those cases.
Not sure what it is about it, but I like it. I wouldn't mind listening to that as a play I game.

That M2k2 guy
Pretty nice, man. Kind of reminds me of something near the beginning, but can't remember. It's not exactly the same as anything I remember, though, so doesn't really matter.
always move fast
reminded me of something from timesplitters, very cool.

edit: after listening to it again, the middle -> almost end reminds me of a christmas carol mod for timesplitters, very cool.
When I listen to it, the first half makes me think of something I could hear in an old 2D sidescroller. I like what you did with it.
Ha, wow, everyone's getting a ton of different associations. I'm proud! A close friend of mine on MSN happily and sarcastically claimed I'd stolen it from Lemmings 2, because apparently each section in the song reminded him of a world in that game (shadow, egypt and classic, respectively). Someone on another forum said it had a definite Asian vibe and asked if the game had the same feel... And now it's 2D sidescroller and TimeSplitters.

And personally, I know a couple of things I let myself be inspired by, namely Jeroen Tel's Smash TV theme and that song in the first level of that Bomberman game for the SNES that has the dinosaurs and junk... I don't know...

Thanks for the comments!
