Ok, would any of you guys be interested in a puzzle race next weekend? It wouldn't be a terribly hard puzzle to figure out, but it'd be interesting route- and strategy-wise. Naturally, I wouldn't be participating in that one myself.
I have no idea, it's not fully finalized yet. I'd expect it might take a little while, though, like... 90 minutes to 2 hours even. Maybe not that long, actually, but like I said, I have no idea.
I actually have an idea for a race that would be less "puzzly" and more "how can I fuck with everyone's muscle memory"...but I'm lazy and haven't double checked everything to make sure it's all possible.
Ok, so, the puzzle is done, and I made a concept run through it so I know everything works, or at least should work (there's always a possibility I overlooked something). Knowing how everything worked, I finished it in about 50 minutes (real time).
Here's the thing, though... it got a little bit more elaborate than I had anticipated, so I full well expect it to take at least double that time for you guys, doing it blind. So, the original estimate of a 2 hour time slot wouldn't be a huge exaggeration.
heads up, I'm gonna be half an hour late tomorrow, and I'd appreciate it if you guys could wait. It usually takes that long to get everything set up anyway, I'm just letting you know!
The race is at 7PM UTC (probably starting a bit later than that). I honestly don't know what category we'll end up playing today, some come by then to find out!
Ok, so, just a heads-up. Starting this Sunday, I'm gonna be sort of busy for most of the summer. This means less stream-watching in general (I'll still be able to catch casts here and there I'm sure), and sadly no racing on Sundays. Saturdays might work for me every now and then, though, so if you guys are gonna adjust the weeklies-schedule for the summer or something, lemme know.
Anyhow, thanks for the races so far, guys. Good fun :)
So, the new ZM debug makes lots of cool things possible, like true low%, or suitless% (okay, this isn't actually possible, but feel free to try). It also makes a randomiser race possible! Randomised any% isn't actually that interesting, since you're generally going to be using the same route. But in randomised 100%, anything can happen.
I guess calling it a randomiser race is kind of inaccurate. The debug lets you change your inventory, so you would start with a random assortment of items already collected.
