huh, an unfamiliar sight.

Great contribution to the topic from the master himself.

Anyway, since nobody is actually posting relevant things, here are some relevant things

Actually I remember just ghetto jumping of the half pipe to jump over the boss trigger but your way is definitely the save choice.

Shit really? Are you sure? Most of the time I can barely make it by jumping onto the far platform and trying to jump around.

At 10:20 would it not be easier to bomb jump to the second spinner and Boost that one before doing the first? Iirc that bomb jump is stupid hard if the first spinner is raised and the second isn't.

If i am not mistaken your idea doesn't work out since u gotta go back down to spinner 1 and raise it anyway and then, going back to spinner 2 is the problem.

I would have assumed the bomb jump is easier with both spinner raised, instead of just the lower one raised. You would need considerably less height with both raised.

You would need less height, yes, but you would need more distance in return! I will look into it, though!

EDIT: wait, now I remember I have actually tried to do the DBJ from raised spinner 1 to RAISED spinner 2 and I couldn't get close within like 15 tries so I concluded that it's impossible or even harder than the other way round.
EDIT END

It probably won't matter too much though since I can do the DBJ from raised spinner 1 to unraised spinner 2 like every 5th time that I get onto spinner 1, so it's not a big deal anyway. :)

As some of you may know I had already done Geo Core inbounds w/o Space Jump. In fact, I had done that three times. One of those times I also skipped Grapple Beam. In all of those three times, I had multiple Energy Tanks to make my task quite a lot easier. But this is the first time I ever skipped Spider Ball on top of skipping Space Jump, Grapple Beam and also with just 99 HP. If I am not mistaken, this is the first time ever someone has legitimately climbed Geo Core under actual NSJ 22% conditions! :D

I kept track of attempts:

attempts in total: 108.

onto spinner 1: 65.
onto spinner 2: 12.
onto raised spinner 1: 12
onto spinner 3: 11
onto raised spinner 2/ activate bomb slot: 8
onto Spider Ball track: 8
onto first Spider Ball block: 8
onto second Spider Ball block: 6
onto third Spider Ball block: 5
to Ice Beam door: 1

Also, I'm going to finish this playthrough as the first ever solely-inbounds NSJ low(-ish)% and upload it to Youtube. :)

At the very end when getting to the Ice Beam door, have you try boosting off the spider block and unmorphing instead of that awkward looking bomb jump? If you can unmorph I imagine it being possible/easier, I'm not sure how big the "no unmorph zone" is.

I could look into that as well! Silly me if that happens to be possible..

Also, why hasn't Bartendorsparky or anyone else thought of using Boost Ball in NSJ 22% besides raising the spinners? I mean, in order to get from the first Spider Ball block to the second, you need to pull off quite a good HBJ/ UBJ or some other fancy Bomb Jump if you don't use Boost Ball at the end of the DBJ. You can barely notice me using Boost Ball there but it's obvious when you consider how much height is needed that a regular DBJ doesn't provide enough height.

@itsPersonnal: I looked into the possibility of doing a DBJ from raised spinner 1 to RAISED spinner 2 and it doesn't look promising if you want to replace the DBJ from raised 1 to UNRAISED 2 with that DBJ. Also note that I couldn't even do it once so if it's not impossible (with a regular DBJ at least, w/o some fancy midair instant unmorph + dash or boosting at the end of a laddered DBJ) it for sure would be harder than the regular DBJ.

I also looked into the possibility of replacing the last, truly odd Bomb Jump, from the third Spider Ball block to the Ice Beam door, with some fancy boosting + unmorphing ASAP and in the correct spot, but that doesn't look promising either if you want to replace the Bomb Jump with that. Also note that I didn't manage to do this trick even once either.

So, I looked into both ideas on dolphin for a bit over 10 minutes each and don't plan on spending more time on that. I'm quite sure that getting the R-dash at the beginning of climbing this room consistent enough to replace the UBJ on the Puddle Spore with it is the only way that this room could be made easier to do NSJ 22% for some people.

Read description, please. :)
Lol what, Justin was NOT the person to discover that you could climb phendrana's edge without Space Jump

Can confirm, I did not discover anything in that room

Edit: He means climbing to the power bomb expansion. I did find that haha
No, you didn't

Interesting to see how you did it, but still you are not the first one to do it (although I opted to jump toward the rock at the end instead of dashing when I did it)

re: NSJ no Grapple Beam Phendrana's Edge:
Well, it might be that Justin was not the first Person to do this. According to him, he did it w/o knowing of anyone else that did it before, so he at least must have figured it out himself. Also, I personally have just seen his Video and concluded he was the first Person to ever do this, based on the fact that I've never seen it being done before. That conlusion of mine was a Logical fallacy though. I apologise. ;)

Just like

just w/o Space Jump Boots.

It's probably never gonna be of use at all, but it's still neat that it's possible. ;)

Hah, that's pretty cool. Definitely useless but fun :D
