You hit camera triggers out of order while wallcrawling through LGT. It's certainly not possible to balance on the rock non-TAS without even being able to see Samus, let alone get the proper facing angle from the BSJ.
Hi. I've started a 21% guide for new players that want to do a 21% playthrough. It uses slower strats, but they are all extremely safe. (Sometimes I auto-pilot and use a faster strat, but it shouldn't be a big deal.)
Here's part 1 and 2, please give feedback. Should I continue? What can I do differently / better? Thank you!
(There is also a bomb jump that is still much easier for those having trouble with the ghetto jump)
I found that just messing around, I'd say it's probably the easiest method to get up there, though it really isn't that bad to just do the ghetto. (amarec didn't want to record so I had to screen cap it <_<)
I thought why not create a vid that has T3's explanation in the description (and shows how to make 21% Thardus Jump more consistent with pause abusing for pressing B and getting to face the right direction).
Description: yeah this might be the first time I did this on console but I can tell you it isnt that hard. i mean mostly you gotta be fast (obviously) but sadly you also ought to get lucky. that luck part will make this last segment of my 21% Hard Mode Segmented Speedrun even more horrible.. ;(
I swear I forgot to local record it and was only trying for like 1-2 mins before I got it my first time ever. Sadly, as I was trying to recreate it, I needed almost two hours for it (though I also attempted a 5 try 5 successes RTAx5 from time to time). Well, I DID get it again finally and 5 mins later a third time. It doesn't save any time, it's just neat for people (especially those who are stuck on Crossway in their first 21% playthrough) to know that the HPBJ has relatively (for hard 21% tricks) much leeway to still make it onto the ledge. ;)

Ok now I'll bother you with the silliest SJF video ever (well apart from the faked Trilogy SJF ones obviously). Tomlube told me he'd been aware of this useless alternative (since it's both slower and harder) since "2005 or so", but I've never seen a vid of it, so:
Nice find Justin (or Andy or whoever found it first)! I had thought about that spot like a year ago and tried some minutes but didn't get it. Now that I see it's possible I tried again and it took me 15 mins for some reason. Don't get me wrong: It should be faster than the dash but it ain't easy/ easier FOR ME (yet?).
The BSJ is really easy. You just have to make sure you start moving to the right as you hit the bombs so your camera is facing the proper direction after the unmorph.
About max% NSJ: Afaik neither Root Cave nor Arbor Chamber missile expansion has ever been gotten w/o going oob? What about using Flickerball though? (this just as a sidenote)
So I heard DCR spent quite some time on attempting it inbounds. I also tried for some hours in total. I'm quite sure it should be possible to make it across those invisible platforms. Also, at least with SJB I THINK THAT I REMEMBER (not 100% sure) that you can do a dash to the very last invisible platform (right before the hidden missile expansion in the wall), then do a DBJ and get the missile expansion, then do another tight dash to the plasma door. iirc I did those two last dashes on console without too much effort (but on a file with SJB being in possession). I'd like to know if it's possible to get past the last platform. At least with a ridiculously hard UBJ/ HBJ it should be possible. Or maybe a DBJ would be better here. That's the point: what is better if you need both height and distance and can't seem to make out if you need to focus more on height (--> use UBJ/ HBJ) or distance (--> use a DBJ (at least non-TAS)).
Any ideas or even willing to look into it on dolphin?
EDIT: On dolphin, I accidently found a new way to go oob in Tallon Canyon in NSJ. It replaces the hard dash at the end with a less hard dash. and then an easy dash and then fiddling around in stucky walls until you're out.
Also, I made sure to check the last two dashes in Arbor Chamber are possible NSJ. I tried on dolphin obviously. They both work. They aren't easy and they're very risky obviously, but it can be done.
