If you hold left and right at the same time, then jump, Samus will do a vertical spin jump.

I don't think this has been around since super metroid. :)

during this jump, as long as you hold left and right, samus will automatically grab hold of ledges near her, and while holding left and right, you can just release and hold A again to do a wall jump from any wall she is touching.

It also looks pretty nifty, since the game is basically switching between a left and right spin jump every frame.

I did it on an emulator, but I think it can be done on an original GBA.

I'm pretty sure the GBA SP is incapable of holding both left and right at the same time, though.

Sesshoumaru, I'm pretty sure you can exploit this glitch/bug to great effect. Twisted Evil

EDIT: I just tried it on a file with  space jump, and it's really interesting to see samus space jumping vertically. It adds a little cool factor, but not much else. 8)

It was in SM, you just had to press right and then UBER SUPER quickly press jump and release right and you would be flipping straight up.

You can't press left and right at the same time at a GBA, since when you press one of them the other rises up.

So, if the technique Goofyman said won't work in Fusion, it's impossible to pull of at anything else than a emulator.
I do it all the time. Instead of space jumping back and forth it allows you to go straight up.

I hit left OR right and jump very quickly. I practically tap the direction then Samus will somersault upward
Agh, I cant do it on an emulator, but my friend has the cart and ive never failed it  :x
I'm pretty sure you can hit both on a GBA.

I remember reading about a glitch in Super Mario advance 4 that several people used.

It involved holding both directions at once to make mario run faster backwards.

Was the glitch useful? It's actually not as hard as you'd think to take the D-Pad off a GBA, and under it there's a button for each direction, which is how the D-Pad works. Given some usefulness, people will take a screwdriver to the GBA. In fact, there's a glitch in LttP(SNES *and* GBA) that requires hitting up and down at the same time that will get you UNDER the floor in Hyrule Castle, from which you can waltz to the final fight room (because all the dungeon maps are connected), then walk up to trigger the end of the game with only your sword and shield!
The mario running backwards glitch is very useful for speed, as you can't attain that sort of speed you get by running backwards any way else.

I got through the first room of the third world's fortress in five seconds using it. Shocked

also, the glitch provides quick flight with a raccoon suit, so I think it's very useful.

Your contradictions make it near impossible to decipher what you're saying.

Nope. ^_^ You're underneath the locked door, so you can freely go north.
Anything that would not be possible without taking the system apart seems like cheating to me, even moreso than the usual glitches.
Hmmmmm  ...  I hope this LttP thing works
and you can hold both of them down at the same time on the normal GBA
