For the past couple of weeks I've been putting together a proof of concept for a remix of the tunnel theme from Metroid II. Each part was recorded on a seperate day and you can tell, because they don't mesh very well, and there's some hiss in places... but it helps me to make this first, because I can hear what's good and what isn't, and blah de blah. Here is a link to a MIDI of the original tune. (My version is attached at the bottom of this post.)
Note ye that the only instrument I play is bass, so I've developed my own chord systems and playing style over the years for a solo-bass style.
So anyways, if I made:
(something like this) - (hiss + fuzz) + (cohesion) + (moar awesome stuff) - (bad quality) = the new mp3
...would you enjoy it?
Btw, from about 1:20 onwards I tested out various things, like a supa-distortion lamesolo, and heavy fuzz noodlings. So you can turn it off at that point if you want. :'(
