I've been trying to aqcuire a good copy of the Super Metroid ROM; I've aqcuired two distinct copies of the game, only to find that they both exhibit the same graphic glitches (the initial shaft in Ceres, and the Zebes landing area). Now, this only seems to take place the first time I visit these areas (as in, the problem will correct itself if I transition and then enter the areas once more. I was wondering, is something up with my computer and or emulator/roms, or is this an isolated incident? Also, is there some way to rectify this?
Thread title:
find a better rom.

Are you positive that the rom was to blame?
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
Yup.  It'll be the ROM.  You need to look for Super Metroid (JU) [!], which'll tell you that it's a clean version of the ROM.
I just found a seemingly clean rom which exhibits the same graphical glitches...
What'd you say?
I have a "clean" version too which had tiling errors in Ceres' elevator shaft. It doesn't cause any problems with hacks/hacking/playing but it's there.

Forgive the double posting...

That's the first I've ever seen of such glitches... This is the third Rom file which I've tried.

So, is this a common issue with the various SM roms, or is it isolated?

Here's the phenomenon at the Zebes landing site: http://img851.imageshack.us/i/metroidglitch2.png/

Again, the problem dissipates upon reentering the rooms in question
I've had these graphical glitches for some reason. I think I had them when watching F - bomb's recent smv Think
The Bomb that says it all .!..
Strange... they weren't there when I recorded it, I've never seen them at all. Maybe it has something to do with screen resolution/ filters/ image processing issues.
What'd you say?
I dunno but I'm really starting to hate Snes9x... The damn random lag it causes SUCKS!!!

I like Big Butts and I can not lie
That's a snes9x 1.52 official glitch, get the rerecording one instead (either snes9x-1.52-rr-r185.zip or snes9x-1.43-rerecording-svn146.zip depending on if you want 1.52 or 1.43 respectively)
Probably I have already gave out before, but I'm going to give it out again. Hope this solve your "graphical" issue.

I went to download this and my anti-virus notified me of a trojan...
What kind of anti-virus are you using? I scanned mine with Microsoft security essentials and it detects no virus.
What'd you say?
AVG

I don't use AVG anymore, they caused BSOD on my computer. Try using Avast instead, they worked great.
