This isn't that great, but I thought it was pretty cool and I thought you guys might want to hear it.

When the Acid worm is about to attack, face the opposite way of where the zipline will go when you jump on it.  Then when the worm attacks, aim diagonally down and fire like crazy and you'll hurt the acid worm while your getting across to the other platform, and then you can wail on him there.  Try it, it's pretty nifty. 

Well, maybey it's not that nifty, but it helps a little and speeds up the battle by a little.

cool but i think its commo knolage but i haven't done that before plus no one fights the Acid Worm anymore cause it can be easly skiped.

Heh, I can think of a few ZM missile tanks that are a lot lousier than the one you get from beating Acid Worm.  The two on the right side of Ridley were, in my opinion, not worth it.  Acid worm is easy.  Shinesparking isn't.

On my most recent SM practice run I tried using Supers on Spore Spawn and the battle was still WAY too long.  That won't be in if I ever try for sub 1:15.

To be honest, Acid Worm is so easy, you can do whatever you want with him.

An interesting trick was posted a while back. It said that you can jump into the lava and pump the acid worm more than if you use the Grab.

Another way to do it that does even more damage is to just fire a charged shot or a missile, but I've never tried a missile, and when you do a charged you almost never miss.  But is it true that with the Varia Suit you can just go down there and unload on him?  I gotta try that...

Well, if you get the Varia early, and do what Mr. Aran said (shoot him from the acid pool) then yeah, you have a legit (and quite cheesy) boss trick on your hands.

Note that I run a little bit left and turn before shooting up in the second round. If you don't do this,half of the missiles won't hit  Acid worm. (don't ask me why)
