Breathe in the Future, Breathe out the Past
I just tried to capture feelings and let them ride. The track has two phase variations back to back.
First half is micro edited for precise beat timing. Second half is more layed back then runs off.
Please listen and give suggestions if you have any.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The first part seems too dissonant to me, but the second part is pretty good.

It seems like within every song of yours, I really like part, but dislike another part.

Maybe you could just compose all the music for Aegis? You're a bajillion times better than I am.

I dig. I think I actually like the first part a bit more but the song as a whole is good. I feel like it sort of devolves into something simpler in the second half, which I guess is what you were going for. I think it could maybe fall apart more slowly at the middle when it transitions and again at the end when it dies. But you're the expert, not me.
Hated by all
Sometimes when I listen to some of the music you brought up, you keep reminding me of Blade Runner [and some skit I saw that had the camera looking to the sky] for some reason (that's the first thing that comes to mind when it came to the music, and yes, I'm mentioning the second half).

Arrow Arrow Arrow Arrow

The ! was because of the first third.

First part was great; second part was pretty boring, but not bad.

uNsane, thanks for listening. I hope to make a track someday that you like entirely.  :P

Acheron, yeah it devolves but this isn't exactly one track, it's two variations that I put side by side just so it was 1 file instead of 2. I may make the first part much longer but micro editing can be a pain, it's the asm of making beats. lol
I don't think my style would be fit for metroid music, as I love making beats more than melodies. I'm sure what you've got planned for Aegis will be great.  :-)

playerman, hmm.. I can't see how this sounds like Vangelis, but I've made tracks before with his sound in mind. I'll dig into the vault and find you one sometime. On the topic of bladerunner, have you heard the limited edition 2 disc esper edition of the soundtrack? It's stunning.
Edit: k made something vangelishy

Arkarian, thanks for listening. I'll probably give the first part more work.

Hey, isn't that... uh... And I wanted to use that too. Blargh!
Harsh criticism time! The first part is too glitchy (but not in a good way: it lacks the drive) for my tastes, the second… not sure, I like the sounding, but there's just nothing happening there.

Btw, if you haven't yet, I suggest listening to Gridlock's later output (2001-2003), Dryft, and Bitcrush (both are solo projects from one of the Gridlock guys). You might get some interesting ideas from them… or at least have some fun time listening. In my opinion, Gridlock is one of the best experimental bands that aren't deeply shifted on copying afx/ae/boc sound from the previous decade. Formless is one of my most favorite albums to date; it's both harsh-sounding and incredibly emotional.

Formless is one of my all time favorite albums ever. Return and Chrometaphor blow my mind. Afx simply can't be copied, and I'm positive that he's the Tuss. tycho tried boc but failed, they just can't be copied without coming off as fanboy wannabes. I've done some ae'ish stuff but I'm not trying to sound like them, it just comes out that way, but I'm sure 1000 bedroom laptop junkies have said the same thing..

Thanks for listening. I've been working on this alot since, removing and adding things so there is more of a flow, less chaotic.

You should check out my cyberian otaku album because this spam here is a joke compared to the time I put into that LP. http://digital-mantra.com/cyberianotaku/

I agree on moozooh's points entirely. I'm not feeling the first one, personally.
