Oh snap! I had an idea on where to use this last night, and now I can't remember what it was. Bah, at my need for sleep.
Well, I'll be working on trying to remember what it was.
EDIT: Well, while I was trying to figure it out, I stumbled upon something else. You can keep a spark barely long enough to use it after receiving download. But what you have to do is slide to a stop and charge right before you lose you're chance to charge it (and also right before the download begins). The biggest use for this would be for the super missiles, since I tend to not get lucky in the room before that contains those three jumper creatures. So you can build you're spark this way and lose less time.

I didn't mention this a long time ago in the Best Times topics, honest!
I did get the answer that the other way is faster, so that's probably why it was forgotten.
And you don't need to slide to a stop, if you are really fast with sparking afterwards.
