Hi everyone!!  I was wondering what the top hacks are, whether I've played them or not, that are the most console friendly.  Hacks that require savestates and advanced tricks (mockball, infinate bomb-jump to more difficult tricks), while are still good hacks, are to be excluded here.  Also exclude any upcoming hacks console friendly or not.

I think RevolutionEX by Bloodsonic would most likely be one example of a console friendly hack once you survive the heat run although I'm not really 100% sure about it.  Metroid MINI by the Sevenstar guy in Japan, so far, is another example.

Here's a list of just about all the hacks that I have: (you can also mention ones I don't have obviously)

Thanks

Thread title:
haha... yeah, my hack is NOT a console friendly hack during the hells run. I've tried it on my wii. aiwebs_009
however, asides from that, is rather friendly.

some other "console friendly" hacks I would suggest...

-(super) Metroid Legacy
-Metroid limit (kinda. ridley and GT have crazy health IMO. and tourian hurts)
-Metroid Dependence
-Metroid Redesign No.
-Metroid Revolution EX (kinda. hells run is hell.)
-Metroid pantheon
-Metroid SFI
-Metroid Volta (both Betas)
-Metroid Battle

Don't know if this list is helping any... (I didn't look at your hack list, just skimmed it)
but they ARE console friendly as far as my skills go.
If you can mockball, Gravy is a possiblilty.

The only really hard parts are Mini-kraid, and the WS area. It even has the original save points intact.

The rest of my works? Not so much.

Anyone should be able to mockball on console, I don't think that is a difficult trick at all. But to each their own.

And I hate you for your Mini-Kraid! Evil or Very Mad

I think Cliffhanger (Easy Version anyway.) is very playable on console. The heat run is quite doable in realtime and there isn't that much hard about once you get through the Wrecked Ship the first time.
MockingBird Station is another I think should be doable on console. Maybe not exactly friendly to console, but playable. I don't remember needing slowdown or savestates for it that much.

Problem with both of those hacks is the only save point is the Ship, and in each it can be quite far away...
Really I think that your question depends on your skill as a player. Someone like Hotarubi could do some of the harder hacks on the console, and then you could have someone who is really bad not be able to do any kind of hack harder than the original.

Also, the biggest deal here is save stations. If a hack doesn't have it, and has difficult parts, it's kind of hard for it to be playable on the console. I really don't think some of the hacks on your list are very hard, but I still can't imagine having to play through them without anyway other than the ship for saving.
Green-Kirby, ROAR!
The hack would need to have a header to run on the SNES to. :/

It's not exactly hard to add a header, though.
I think Golden Dawn is a pretty easy hack once you know where you're going. Although it's fairly long and no saves, it doesn't have any life or death situations that would make it difficult on console.
^/_\^
I think Golden Dawn and Mockingbird station are a little to hard for the console. Cliffhanger....not so much.

Redesign however should definitely be playable on the console.

Also Mockball, wall-jumping, (one wall and regular) as well as IBJ are easily doable on the console, though IBJ is sometimes difficult.
Go ahead. Stare.

Shocked I thought people only thought Mockballing was hard on console... Maybe it is easier for me since I learned these tricks on the console, but I seriously can't find out why people think these are hard to do. A few minutes of practice is all you need for any of these tricks.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Cliffhanger, whether original or easy, is not doable on console since there are no save stations.

Oh really?  No savestations is console friendly? XD
sorry I just had to point that out...
Yo.
Why would you need savestations on the console? You can leave it on for infinity hours and your game will never go away! Just don't bump that cartridge...
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
I think the idea is just for practicality, as people don't usually leave their console on for a week. Very Happy
If you ask me, save stations are vital for really being console friendly, regardless of difficulty. Losing a couple hours of gameplay is unacceptable to me, regardless of how hard it was to accomplish.

Actually, I disagree with those who think Cliffhanger easy version is console friendly.  There are two heat runs in that one and there are spikes that do major damage in the beginning (first heat run), and there are acid/lava instant kill situations (fortunately not too many though) like the first missile tank.  Either you make the walljump when you should or you die.  There are also (not many, only two I can think of) enemies that if you touch them, it's instant death.  It's a really great hack I'd recommend for the ZSNES but not for the ol' console, my PSP of which I refuse to use savestates on.

Thank you all for letting me know of console friendly hacks, by the way.  I'm sure there are more, so please keep recommending various console friendly hacks, okay??  You can also look at my hack list mentioned in the first post, some console friendly some not.  Many thanks!! grin new

Oh, and if there are hacks some would say is console friendly but someone disagrees, can you please tell why you disagree??  That would be helpful, thanks. Very Happy

P.S.  laugh new I don't leave the PSP on for an infinity number of hours by the way, even with the battery charger on.... laugh new laugh new
