Sam, I don't really see your point as a definite nullification the ArXyn's. A point can thoroughly convince an individual to pick one side or another, but at this point it's looking like it's up to opinion.

It may be an important issue at some point in time, and I'm glad there are plenty of points brought up so far, but until there's actual competition in another language confronting us, the debate is pretty biased because everyone here uses English already. I feel that the problem shouldn't necessarily be solved until it's a problem; until it's observed and understood from other perspectives.
Jagger, at this point no one has easy (or any) access to the Chinese version of the game. If indeed everyone could get the game (and assuming it could be played on the GBP of course) then it wouldn't be an issue though. This is a direct refutation to the only point arx made. ;)

Okay, but it's opinion that other versions of the game should be excluded due to rarity. It's also opinion that time matters more than convenience, regardless of the reason it's faster. They're opposing beliefs, but neither are inherently right.
It is opinion that different versions should not be included due to rarity, but it's a fact that if it's too difficult for people that want to speedrun to get carts it's not going to be very even or competitive. It's also a fact that ultimately the point of a speedrun is to beat the game as quickly as possible, and the Chinese and Japanese versions of the game have faster text. Convenience doesn't get put into the equation there at all.
