On another note, seeing uchiha stream makes me want to try doing some mp3 again, so I'm going to spend a little time here and there to derust, and also hopefully learn the phaaze and nova beam wallcrawls.

Uchiha I hate you. I'm practicing the phaaze wallcrawl; once I get it practiced more, I'll time it to see how much faster it is to wallcrawl past the hyper ball sections and the hopper + 5-eye minifights. I'd like to make my own video, but uh, I kinda can't record... <_<

4:16 SS 100% normal mode

this is my first 100% in normal since i used to do 100% on the highest difficulty only in the past. i forgot a few items at the end and got some route errors. i think i could sub 4 hours. i used trilogy version btw.

On another note, I've been learning the nova beam wallcrawl that parax posted, and it's... doable. That's all I can really say. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be very useful for 100% but I have yet to time it... I kinda wanna do any% too since spider skip will save a few minutes overall, and having another wallcrawl will make mp3 a little cooler than it currently is (aka not cool at all)

EDIT: There's also a routing thing I want to test - when to get the gearworks missile tank. I normally do it right before doing the berserker lord skip in east elysia with an annoying 2 room detour, but I never tested trying to get it on the way from concourse ventilation to Landing Site B, during cleanup (whereas the current route during cleanup is, after main elysia cleanup, go to east elysia, get the concourse ventilation missile tank, then go back to Landing Site A). So you may wanna hold off on doing another run until I test that out by tonight :P

I have 3:49. Honestly I'm not gonna spend too much time on it. I need to improve my Prime 1 time, too. I'm sure I can shave off like an hour, but I think I need to shave 3.5 hours off Prime and another half hour off Echoes and Super before I come back to this.

I've been thinking about running this game for a while now, and today I finished my first playthrough using the Any% route, and trying out some tricks.
35% Normal in 4:15 (PAL).
Any% seems like a pretty fun run to do, and I might look into 100% at some point as well, since early ice missiles is a cool thing :)

Well IMO for single-segment runs, 100% is just much more interesting than any% (Assuming you're not doing bryyo skip route). Cleanup for bryyo (and even elysia, somewhat) is pretty awesome, early ice missiles is a neat minor trick, and there are a lot of smaller tricks used that spice it up a bit

...but it's around 4-5 hours RTA :(

...I should hurry up and do a 100% run with the minor route changes <.<

34% Normal in 3:24 PAL Single Segment. Pretty happy with this, went out of my way to get a couple of E-tanks and I also picked up some unneeded energy cells along the way. Real time was 4:14:51 for those interested. Maybe its almost time to start a leaderboards thread for this game. laugh new

33% Normal in 3:13 PAL Single Segment. Several chokes in Bryyo, including dying to Rundas (Although I did that in my previous run as well >_> ). I really need to watch some runs for reference, but doing runs of this game sure is fun :3
