that's a pretty good time. that reminds me i should get on gear and sub 3 hours.

also, i had forgotten to post my latest 100% hypermode time from many months ago:

5:42 hypermode 100%

the only part where i die a lot is Omega Ridley. i can beat even the final bosses with 1-2 deaths but at ORidley i die 10+ times.

Dark Samus gave me the hardest time on hypermode for some reason.  Well technically Mogenar is the biggest bitch/pain-in-the-ass/piece-o'-feces in hypermode, but he's so obviously misplaced that that could be an entire new thread.
Anywhere, everywhere
I think Dark Samus is way way waaay harder than Mogenar on hypermode.
After many playthroughs I'd agree with that now. Used to think Mogenar was. If you manage your hypermode to make each tank last longer than normal the fight can go very swimmingly, and use charge hyperbeam shots too.

Dark Samus I have to admit though does become quite cheap by prolonging the battle with time consuming moves toward the end of the fight and not staying vulnerable for long either. On every attempt on hypermode that I've done the checkpoint was put into play to defeat her.

with mogenar, the problem is if you don't know the proper way to defeat him. in lower difficulties he can be defeated even if you don't manage your hypermode properly but on hyper you need to know what you're doing to do well.

dark samus is a pain even if you know how to play properly.
Yeah. Other bosses are like that on Hypermode. Rundas definitely but IIRC you don't have the dangerous part of hypermode at that point and it simply cancels it after a while and doesn't kill you. But you only have a few ET to dispatch Rundas cleanly. So making it last is essential. I love this aspect of the game. It can make seemingly difficult bosses a breeze through skillful management.

Steam lord is another one where I succeeded so much better than past attempts through clever management.

corrupt hypermode is available before you fight rundas.

I did this two days ago, first time to me.

I would like to play this with 22% Hypermode, can someone tell me what I must collect? Because I don't know actually what I need to collect.
not evil,just hungry
22% skips hazard suit and 2 energy cells (you collect 3 cells total).
21% skips hazard suit and 3 energy cells.
or 21% skips hazard suit, 2 energy cells, and screw attack.
20% skips hazard suit, 3 energy cells, and spider.  You collect screw attack here.

no screw 21% is probably the hardest.  20% requires a fair amount of SW travel on the pirate homeworld.
Okay, thanks for the information, I started 22% Hypermode speedrun (actually for me is challenge speedrun)

Here is first segment

10:29 18% Hypermode. Nice to see that MP3 is finally showing some sense of brokenness, but damn that was annoying... Hopefully any more skipped items are after Plasma, as I have a backup save there. >_>

First legitimate 101% lolololol

(I split this off from my 18% right before Nova, which is why the time is so high... No, I don't completely suck. :()

I like turtles.
I said much the same thing after he finished his 18% run, except there was a "MAGGOT" at the end.

Arbitrary MP2 categories only !
After being a lurker for several months now, I finally decided to join this forum, let's write down my best times I guess, both are Single Segment

100% Hyper 6:46

35% Normal 2:58 (3:48:00 Real Time)

Edit: just noticed that the last Post is over an year old, nobody plays this game I guess =(
I play it; have been doing 100% casually lately, and want to break 4:45 RTA with my updated (noob) route.

Ironic how both of us are kirbies XD

T_T

My personal best 100% run (normal) is 3:43 in-game, 4:47:51 RTA. It sucks though; I've been able to get over 9-minute splits in runs the past month but they all die thanks to the game never wanting me to finish a run <_<
MP3 100%, SS 3:41, RTA 4:47:10. Terrible run, but at least my splits are now updated with my current route <_<

I plan to shoot for sub-3:35 in-game, or about sub-4:40 RTA. Something along those lines. I really need to learn the tower e-tank...

hmm i didn't post my most recent in-game time here.

3:11 42% normal.

i just went fast and used the natural route since this was trilogy version (lol). i plan to sub 3 hours with the original version when i try again. this was the run i got in my 3-game marathon last month and it was good considering i had been playing the other 2 games for 8 hours straight when i began this one.

i checked my 100% run from last month and i fell just 1 minute behind my PR. i definitely need to make a route.

MP3 100% Single-Segment normal-mode 3:30 in-game, 4:33:43 RTA. I've always had the WR for that category, though it's only because nobody ever does it, so I was very uncomfortable with calling it a WR. Now I'm actually ok with calling this a WR.

(I'm not sure how to embed images... <_<)

It's very much improveable. Mogenar, Gandrayda, and east elysia bl skip sucked, but otherwise everything went very smoothly. I scored about 95% of the small timesavers first try, most other bosses went well (aurora unit gave me perfect luck!). Also, it's not the ideal route; I didn't get the e-tank early in ice bryyo, which means I can save at least another 2 minutes from that, but I don't do it because it's not consistent for me yet. Otherwise I think the route is fine, though I will look into whether it's worth entering the secret world in concourse ventilation to get the missile tank there on first visit or not (probably not).

Just through better optimizations and an amazing Gandrayda fight...

Using my current route, there's probably about 2-3 minutes of mistakes. Sub 3:25 is definitely possible with this route. I don't think I'm doing any more runs until I get the tower early e-tank consistent (2-3 minutes saved) and parax's nova beam SW route (4 minutes saved).
