Overall I had trouble finding a lot of times for anything in Hypermode that weren't really high. Either I forgot someone's time when I was searching through this topic and a few others, or not a lot of people have attempted solid Hypermode runs yet. I'm guessing there are some times that people haven't uploaded that would probably beat some of these, but I only went with what I found.

I'm actually amazed that nobody has tried to defeat my 22% normal run yet. I'm 90% sure that someone like Paraxade could easily beat it if they wanted to. I may do one of those again after I finish my 22% Hypermode run.

A normal mode 22% is only longer than any% with respect to fights where having multiple energy tanks makes significant difference (such as Mogenar and O. Ridley). I'd hope something like 2:40-2:45 would be possible, as the gap should only be about 10 mins or less.

Also, I was going to do a 100% route test run (not recorded though) to fish for new tricks and see what it feels like. I was going to do it on normal mode as a colossal contrast in difficulty to hyper low%, but I'd do hyper difficulty again if it served a purpose, in this case beating down old records.
Compared to my normal any% run, which is a 2:59, it's only a seven minute difference between that and my 3:06 22% run, so you're probably right in that regard. 22% normal isn't much more challenging than an any% regardless, which is why there are few of those runs I'd imagine. An any% hypermode is vastly different than a 22% hypermode, so having people go after both of those makes plenty of sense to me.

I was thinking of looking for more tricks after this anyway, so I might just do that instead.
hyper mode 22% in 3:49 (36 segments). I could've gotten sub 3:40 had I gotten a better AU1 fight and counted my Norion (first 8 segs) improvements. Proof of the time I got is in the last video posted in the topic I made for the run.
Great Job! I just finished my run a few minutes ago as well:

03:53 (22%) Hypermode

The end was all too satisfying once I realized I had a chance against AU 2. grin new
That makes 4 hyper mode low% runs. Will they all get added to the wiki, or is it always top 3? If it's the latter, sorry about that :|
you know you can add them yourself right? just pm me your desired username and your email address (for activation) and i'll make you an account on the wiki.

I cut off some of the categories after a certain number of runs so that we don't clutter if up, but if we could get a top five or so for each category that was what I was initially thinking of doing. Wink

I just added both of them onto the list, but it's always good to have the ability yourself. If more people start using the wiki again we could start updating it if needed anyway.

And I'm surprised that I almost cut that ten or so minute gap that was between us. Wasn't your Phaaze time 03:24 or something like that? Mine was 03:35 before taking off.

Edit: Just went through the wiki and this topic again to further flesh out the speed run listing there. I tried getting as many categories as possible to have the top five runs, but I obviously couldn't fill them all. Hopefully I didn't leave anyone out again when I was doing this.

My aurora fight sucked, it was probably something like 14 mins long. That's what hurt my time, I didn't bother restarting over aurora because I wanted to beat 313 so badly.

is there a link to where I can download the latest record-breaking speedruns for prime 3?
...
Wow, Echoing the Silence is back?  I haven't seen you since the SCU memorial topic.  Currently, there are no MP3 runs on SDA.  Paraxade had a speed run on YouTube a while ago, but it was deleted.  If you check the M2K2 main site, even the Hunters section has a Speed Runs link when the Corruption section doesn't.  Start submitting Corruption runs to SDA, people!
...it's not deleted >_>

Check the first post of the test run topic for my WIP.

does anyone still have friend vouchers available? i'm in my 100% all-scans run in mp3 now and the minimum to unlock all the stuff that uses green tokens was 15 friend tokens so i kinda need them now.
i have 17 friend vouchers if anyone wants a few or wants to exchange.

next step: play on hypermode.
the final bosses won't be easy anymore.
overall the game is too easy on normal. veteran should have been normal.
I have no idea if I have any extra friend vouchers at this point, all I know is that I accidentally deleted the version of my save file ages ago where I had enough of them to unlock the last few dioramas I needed. So technically I'm still 3 or so short I think, but it's been months since I played Corruption so I can't remember specifically.

If I get around to it today/tomorrow, I'll check it out and let you know.

Well, that would explain it.  I'm playing veteran now.

I have 17 or 18 friend vouchers, and I'm willing to exchange.  As soon as I can I'll get my friend code up here and add everyone.

seems like a good deal. i also have around 17 friend vouchers.

btw, i failed to scan all the pirates so i'll be doing another run to pick up what i missed later.

edit: i did a quick any% run and picked up the missing scans. i improved my record a little bit also:

3:40 40%

i could pick up less missiles and e-tanks next time i play since by the end i had a lot of them to spare.

Kekekeke, I beat Hypermode. 9:08, 100%. Overall it wasn't too hard, except the last fight series was a pain. Probably because you can't abuse hyper mode properly. Overall I only died twice, once on Omega Ridley (which was more a suicide because I was too low on energy to properly kill him) and once on Dark Samus. And I was about a second away from dying against the final boss, my meter was full and flashing when I delivered the final blow.

Best time is 7:22 100% on Veteren. I'm sure I could beat that on normal but I only played through that once and since it was my first time I was slow and had to scan everything.

Everything unlocked, yay. And got all 26 friend vouchers.

EDIT: Played through on normal again, 5:26 100%. Should try an any%, I'm sure I could get under 4 hours easy and maybe 3 if I practice.

After beating hypermode, the game on normal is ridiculously easy. Especially the final bosses. Not only is hyper the hardest hard mode of the Prime series, normal is the easiest normal. Although I wouldn't be surprised if normal is supposed to be easy so you can get used to the controls without getting slaughtered, and Veteran is the "real" normal comparable to normal on Prime 1 and 2.
14:07 100% Veteran

now to start hypermode o_o
I just beat hypermode a couple of days ago, and I thought it was fairly easy. The only problem is that you have to play somewhat cautiously, because most bosses can outlast you unless you're defensive and opportunistic. The defense drone was a joke on hyper though. I killed it on my first try way earlier that I expected.

Save time was around 12 hours due to my taking my time. I think I could easily get under 5 hours though.
Okay, update. I'm close to completing my first speedrun (22% normal.) Saved at pirate command ready to fly to Phaaze, 3:30 on the clock. I'm aiming to get sub 4 hours.

How long does phaaze usually take on normal? Less than half an hour?
Yeah, it shouldn't take too long if you know what you're doing and can take down the bosses quickly. Although they don't pose much of a threat on Normal and don't take a lot of hits before falling, they could still eat up time due to unexpected actions and not exposing their weak points too much.

Alpha/Omega: 2009-03-05 08:36:13 am
Just finished. Normal, 22% 3:44.

I'm pretty happy with this. When I started I thought I'd be scratching 4 hours, maybe even 5, but a time like this is... so low o_O

Can I be added to the wiki please? Is it up to date?

EDIT: Phaaze was actually kinda sloppy. I'm going to do it again and see if I can break 3:39.

EDIT2: Gah, 3:40. Phaaze went fairly well, but could be improved. The boss fights were really fast, but AU decided to make echoes twice and use the purple laser, then use the quad lasers and spinning thing. The fights were otherwise perfect.

I will break 3:39.

Couple questions, In cavern alpha, which wall is best for the ssj? I haven't been bothering with it (figure its quicker to go around than to attempt once or twice before getting it.)

How much health does the bloody leviathan have? Any tips to speed genesis chamber up?

Prime Hunter: 2009-03-05 08:44:22 am
I have NO idea about the wiki. It's likely close to being accurate since very few people have made serious runs on Corruption lately as far as I know. (And Paraxade has not finished his run yet, so that doesn't count) I just checked it out, and I was about to say that your time wouldn't break the top five until I remembered it was a low% normal run, so yeah I'll put it up there in a minute since I seem to be the one managing that list.

Edit: You're talking about the room right before Dark Samus right? I tend to kill the metroids and then use the charged up Hyperbeam (The "chaingun" attack) a few times while aiming directly at the larva inside of the leviathan. From what I remember, it takes about 3 or 4 fully charged attacks to take it out on Normal, and if you're quick/lucky enough you can get it before it crosses over to the other side and you have to cross the room.
