I downloaded the .zip files from last night, but for some reason, something altered my system to always open .zip files with Windows Media Player or some other program, which does nothing, instead of letting me just open them as zipped folders.  Please help, as this is quite annoying and I want my .zip folders restored.  Feel free to move this to the Boardwalk if you think it is too broad a topic.

Right-click them and choose 'open with'. You would have to download them first, though.

I've already downloaded them, I just can't open them.  And the "open with..." option is the problem.  Somehow, Windows Media Player was selected and "always open this file type with this program" was checked at the bottom, so now my computer's screwed.

I know. Click 'open with', select something else, and then possibly select 'always open with this'.
Have you checked all your .zip files or just that one? Interdpth did say the materials would be deleted at the end of the class.

Which program should I use?  There is no "zip folder" program.  I've tried Internet Explorer, but all that does is causes an Internet window to keep flashing on and off on the screen, and my only option is to restart my computer.

Edit: Yes, it is all my .zip files.
Install 7z, winzip, winrar.

The files are still uploaded won't delete unless I get told too
Yo.
If you're using a Windows OS, you should open Explorer (y'know, the window that pops up whenever you open any folder on your computer, such as My Documents, if you don't know what I'm talking about,) and, at the top, go to Tools, and click Folder Options. Alternatively, you could go to Control Panel, and (if you're in the classic mode - god, the graphical replacement sucks) double-click Folder Options.

You'll want the "File Types" tab. Give the list a minute to populate, then search around at the very bottom, since it's in alphabetical order, for the ZIP extension. Next to where it says "Opens with..." either click Change and do it manually, or, if you don't see a "Change," look for something that says "Default" in its place. Hope this helps!

Considering that you might not have elicited this change on purpose, you might also want to look for an unzipper (I hear 7zip is pretty damn good.)

EDIT: Jeezus, guys, I was actually trying to write a tutorial here. Quit ninja posting me!

I got them to unzip with Alphazip.  Too bad the full version isn't free, it would be nice to have a full-time unzipper.  True, I got my hands on a Camtasia product key from someone, but it's not like everyone has every key.

I suggest you try 7-zip
It's free and awesome

Also, you can always just right click, go to properties and change the program it opens with from there, it should change for all the same extensions as well

I like Big Butts and I can not lie
It's a simple zip file, Windows can open zip files with Send to > 'Compressed (zipped) Folders'

Try this. Once you install, right click on the file you want to open and click "extract here".

Ok, I got the zip thing taken care of, but for some reason, the VBA within the file won't play any ROMs.  Is something wrong with my system?
